Prayers Needed Please

Some types of childhood seizures are benign and kids can grow out of them so it may all work itself out. We found it really hard to know whether we were seeing seizures or just a kid kind of zoning out as kids do. Having the diagnosis does allow you to understand a little better what is going on (for example, not to get annoyed with our son for "not paying attention" and stuff like that) and can help if there are similar issues at school or they may need longer to take tests, etc. If they are real seizures, it'll probably become more apparent over time as she grows up and becomes more aware.

Hugs and prayers for all of you. Now you know what it is, it's a bit less scary I hope. Still, there's a lot of deep breath taking when raising children!

Prayers on their way, Jill! One of my nephews, who's now 20, had those. He had many ear infections and ended up having his tonsils out when he was 4. The doctor told my sister and my BIL that he could get them up to about age 5. I think he had 3 altogether (I can't remember how far apart). He's had no issues since then. I would have scared out of my wits, if I had witnessed them.

We spent last evening with Harper (and her family) and she was definitely her little spunky self - and I didn't notice any absent stares at all ... she still has a cold (which seems to the norm in their household - someone always has a running nose or cold - lol - guess that happens with families with kids!!) Our son seems to really believe that when she zones out that sometimes she's just "re-focusing" - it usually happens when there is a lot going on around her - and I am trusting he knows her better than I do ...
