I'm currently really craving some good fried potatoes and onions. I may do that this week with some pinto beans YUM!!

Are you a lover of the potato?
Do you have a favorite way you like your potatoes?

Are you a lover of the potato?
Yes! That's such a silly question to ask me.

Do you have a favorite way you like your potatoes?
Mashed, french fries or potato salad

Not really a recipe as such but when we are wanting a relatively easy meal we often do our version of "loaded potatoes". It's basically cooked slices of potato layered with a combination of any or all of the following which is cooked up together, ham or bacon, onion, capsicum/bell pepper, tomato, silverbeet or spinach and grated cheese on top. The "recipe" changes each time apart from the potatoes & cheese.

I do love potatoes! But alas, I don't cook potatoes because my husband is allergic - the only potato allergy I've ever heard of! I still eat them when eating out all the time, we just don't ever have them at home.

I don’t love them but I like them.

Mashed with lots of butter and garlic.

I have a breakfast casserole that uses hash browns as the base layer and it’s even better with tater tots instead!

One of my favourite potato dishes is cottage pie. We make variations on it. Basically it's meat or beans with vegetables etc in a think gravy topped with mashed potato. We often use left over bolognaise or chilli for the base.

Of course I love potatoes. They are one of the most important side dishes in Germany. :whistle Boiled, deep-fried, salad, gratin, dumplings, potato patties, mashed potatoes ...

Are you a lover of the potato? Absolutely!

Do you have a favorite way you like your potatoes? Baked, Mashed, Scalloped
I lived on baked and mashed potatoes during the time I was having trouble with adjusting to dentures.

Any great potato recipes to share? Mom found this recipe in a country entertainment magazine over 40 years ago. We called "Gravy & Cheese Fries".
4 medium potatoes
PAM non-stick spray
1 12 oz. jar of low fat chicken gravy (I use Heinz brand)
1 cup shredded low fat cheddar cheese.

Slice 4 medium potatoes lengthwise into thin wedges
Spray pan with non-stick coating (I use a small rectangle pan)
Place potatoes in single layer then spray the top of the potatoes with non-stick coating
Bake in 400 degree oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown
During this time, heat a jar of gravy
When potatoes are browned, pour the gravy over them.
Sprinkle with 1 cup low fat shredded cheddar cheese
Bake 5 or 10 minutes or until cheese is melted or bubbly

Oh yeah! Love potatoes... done any of the ways! mashed, augratin, hashbrowns, fries, tatertots, baked. Yep. Gimmeee!

I freaking love potatoes ...
I loved them mashed .. fried..baked ..in casserole..au gratin..you name it

My son loves them air fried in little chunks and than tossed in French onion dip.. he calls them kai spuds

We make a casserole with potatoes (diced and boiled to semi soft) .. fried burger and cream of chicken and than topped with cheese and baked

I also love sweet potatoes and I eat those a lot fixed and air fried with chili powder and cinnamon

Or tator tots or fries

Sounds like my Shepherd's Pie ... a layer browned ground beef mixed with a white gravy (milk and corn starch), a layer of shredded cheddar cheese, then topped with leftover mashed potatoes.

Last night I made my "ham, green bean and potato casserole." A box of Au Gratin potatoes, can of green beans and cubed ham. I make the potatoes per the box instructions subbing the "juice" from the can of green beans for part of the water, then add the beans and cubed ham, mix well and cook per the box instructions.

Are you a lover of the potato? I have always loved potatoes. So much so that as a small child, I used to beg my mother for a bit of raw potato as a snack when she was peeling the spuds for our supper!

Do you have a favorite way you like your potatoes? Mashed potatoes are my favourite, but I also love baked, fried, french-fried, roasted...along with potato salad, Duchess potatoes, and various other potato casseroles.

Any great potato recipes to share? Here is my recipe for breakfast potatoes:

3 large russet potatoes
3 Tablespoons butter
Salt & pepper to taste
Chopped parsley (optional garnish)

Peel potatoes and dice into 1/2-inch cubes. Put potato cubes into strainer or colander, and rinse thoroughly (this removes some of the starch, to give your breakfast potatoes a crispy exterior).

In a large pan or skillet, melt butter at medium heat. Add potato cubes, along with salt and pepper, and give it all a good stir. Cover the pan or skillet with a tight-fitting lid, and cook, without stirring, for about 12-15 minutes. Remove the lid, and continue to cook for another 12-15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes or so. The potatoes are done when the cubes are golden-brown and just a little bit crispy. Garnish with chopped parsley if you want to be fancy, or just eat as-is!

I used to eat raw potatoes any time my mom was cooking them. Such a great memory!
Thanks so much for the recipe!! Sounds great!!

I love potatoes in every form. Mashed, baked, fried, hash browns, tater tots, french fries, cooked in a roast.

My favorite ways to eat them are Mashed with gravy, french fries with with chili and cheese and fried roast potatoes.

I don't really have a favorite recipe cause I'd rather just boil them, mash them and then add lots of butter.

I still love to eat raw potatoes. I should have added in my previous post that when I make it these days, I actually cut my potatoes into cubes instead of wedges. I end up always munching on the small end pieces of the raw potato when I'm doing it. Now I'm hungry for these... may have to get the ingredients this week at the grocery.

I have a friend who was actually craving dirt when she was pregnant (some kind of nutrient deficiency, I'm sure) but her dr. told her to eat raw potatoes and it worked. I haven't eaten one raw for awhile but I sure will be the next time I have them.
