So, I think I'm going to cave and do PL but was wondering how many of you print from home or print elsewhere and pick up later to add to your binder? :think I just don't want it to be a hassle to have to run to Costco to pick up pictures once a week. So, with that said... what kind of printer do you recommend for printing pics at home AND to be able to print on the card stock that comes with the PL Core kits. I have an Epson Artisan 710 and I swear we go through so much ink! It doesn't have one of those multi-ink cartridges, it has one for every stinking color. So as soon as you put in the Light Cyan, the stupid Magenta one is about to run out. :td It's never ending!

Printers are a running joke at my house because I seem to be collecting them.

Canon Pixma Pro 9000 (wide format. I print my 6 x 12's and 12 x 12's on it when I am too impatient to wait for Costco. Love this printer)
Epson Artison 730 (wireless general use printer for my family. I sometimes print my 8 x 10's and 5 x 7's for PL on it because it's on my network and it's fast. definitely an ink hog)
Canon Selphy ES40 (print all my PL 4 x 6 on here, as well as the CC size pics. I think this model has been discontinued but I was the perfect choice for my 2011 printing.)
Canon ip2600 (inexpensive, low ink cost, I print my hybrid stuff on double sided matte on this printer)

I have an Epson Photo R200 and I swear mine does the same thing Brandy. I love the way it prints though so I will probably do my printing on journaling cards etc at home and my pics I am getting done at my local Krogers. Quick and right up the street!

i keep going back and forth on whether i want to get my own printer for at home to print my 4x6s. it just seems so expensive compared to $.10/pic at snapfish, which i can just go pick up at the store here in town same-day. so i'm not sure if it's really worth it. for now, i think i'm going with snapfish's in-store pick up printing.

I started out 2011 PL printing at Costco and picking up once a week. For some reason (could just be me!), I did much better with staying on track after I starting printing at home. I know you've been on the fence about the Selphy too. Have you looked on ebay?

I bought the same Canon Selphy Laura and Kelly have after hearing them talk about it here. I bought mine last year. It has really come in handy when I'm doing class parties at school. We usually do a picture frame craft and I have been able to print photos right in the classroom to fill the frames right away. Everyone oohs and ahhs over it.

I also have an Epson R1800 that is over five years old or so but it still works fine. We have an AIO printer that we use for general printing and it is a Canon.

I have a red Canon MP640R and I hate it. :lol Ink hog, isn't that reliable, colors never print true to what I see on my MAC.... I love buying printers though. Maybe I'll go buy a new one tomorrow. Shhh. Don't tell Vin. lol

I have a Canon MP560... it prints really well, I like the High Resolution paper for the best color. I buy other prints at Sams Club, our local one has cheap but fantastic prints. They don't do a 12X12 but do have a 12X16, it's almost 3 bucks though... I could probably order online cheaper.

I do think I'll do a mix of printing and cutting. I want one of those photo rounders and plan to buy the turquoise kit/binder at the end of January when I have some money. In the meantime, I am going to try to do things digitally with what I have. My printer ink is completely out right now, all of them, go figure. It's not too bad to replace, about 60 bucks for everything.

I would love a large format printer... where do you even find those? Are they extremely expensive.

I have a Cannon Selphy CP760 for my photos and a Canon MX330 that I use right now for my hybrid...but I don't love it...it's great for everyday printing but I have yet to find a setting for my hybrid stuff that I am completely in love with.

I too really want a large format printer....it's on my ever growing wish list of stuff.

I don't always love mine either but I found that the best is that high res. paper... it's enough of a difference from the other types of paper that I love it just enough to be happy.

I use Hi Res paper but my prints always seem so blah...I really loved my Epson photo printer before it stopped working...lol I like it so much I won't get rid of it...I keep thinking I will plug it in one day and it will magically work again.

right now i have a canon pixma ,mp170 that has a scanner function built in. i love that and have used it several times. BUT. the print quality for photos is meh. acceptable. but not great.

laura you said you have a Canon ip2600. how is the photo print quality on that? great to know it's good for hybrid stuff because mine is no bueno for that. i think it's just OLD and giving up on me. but if the photo quality on the Canon ip2600 is pretty decent, i might just spring for that for photo/hybrid printer combo... same price as the selphy on amazon right now.

I don't use the ip2600 for photos because I think it's only meh for them, I just use it for hybrid - printing papers, cards, stuff for J's preschool, because the the color is good and the ink cost is super low. I got it on SUPER sale at the big box for $29!

My printer is crap and old. This thread was just what I needed.

I'm thinking of getting the Epson - Artisan A50 Printer. I know I used to like my Epson, but it's really old.

I have a 4x6 photo printer (haven't used it in so long, forgot which brand!) and it works well... but I can only get glossy paper and that bugs me. Same with CVS and Target. So I use winkflash b/c they are CHEAP (6 cents now) and even the shipping is cheap. I've always liked the quality and they have MATTE. Right now I don't have any plastics so I'm behind anyway with the actually getting stuff into an album so it's not a big deal that I had to wait 4 days for my pics to arrive. Turns out my week 1 pics arrive tomorrow and so do the plastics I was able to order (they're just not style A). I figure I'll always be about a week behind since I'm waiting for the pics to arrive in the mail, but I'm ok with that. Gives me a little more time to plan & prep for the pages.

My regular printer is decent, especially when you print on white cardstock. I'm pretty sure it's an HP. I like that it's two cartridges one black and the other with the 3 colors. I'm curious how it's going to work printing onto those 3x4 grid cards, using this method: http://paisleepress.com/2011/08/project-life-how-to-print/

I use a HP Photosmart 8150 but yes it is a ink hog. I also coupon so I print a lot of coupons out from it. I swear I am constantly changing the toner on it. My birthday is next month and I'm really seriously thinking of asking my husband for a wii fi printer so I can print anywhere in the house. But of course it has to be able to print photos too.

I have an HP all in one photo printer which I've used for about 5 years now for printing hybrid scrapping stuffs (even when I was a paper scrapper I printed a ton of stuff to use). It's still chugging along and I'm planning on printing all of my journaling cards and little extras on it on matte presentation paper (just went and got the heavier 48 lb. tonight...I've been using the 32 lb. for all my hybrid stuff but I felt a need for the thicker paper for PL).

I also bought a Canon Selphy last night and I love it. I really wasn't sure about it and until this morning was preparing myself to take it back but once I got to play with it a bit and figure out how to make everything fit the way I want it to (especially trying to print two 3x4 photos on a single 4x6) I was thrilled. I'm excited about getting my photos off the computer again and into an album. Something I've not been so good at since becoming a digi scrapper.
