Nothing gives me that special tingle quite like a new Creative Cloud release! (Okay, I don't think that came out exactly right ... ha!)

Adobe just released a bunch of updates to Creative Cloud for Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Bridge, and Premiere. (There's probably a few more apps that were updated, but those are the ones I use most often.) I'm downloading and installing as we speak! Er, type and read. You know what I mean...

Based on what I read in the revision notes, there's not a slew of new features for Photoshop. It's mostly performance improvements (which I'll take!) including a faster Liquify and Surface Blur. There's a new Search tool that has me intrigued - a comprehensive search of not only stock images and help documents but Photoshop tools as well - I am constantly forgetting which menu a particular tool or command is hidden under, so if this does what I think it does it might just be a lifesaver!

For those of you using Photoshop CC, I'd love to hear of any new features or tools you stumble across as you play with PS 2017! :cheer

I just watched Julieanne Kost's video on hidden gems in CC 2017 and - as always - I would have missed them, :-)

I like the new properties panel, especially for type, and the fact that I can now change my highlight color in the layers panel to blue. Not a big thing, but it's a bit nicer than the dull grey.
And I like the fact that we can use emojis now. I am not a big user of them, but this might be nice in certain layouts for journaling.
For users of svg fonts it seems there are also some great new things, but so far I have never used an svg font before.

I just watched Julianne Kost's video also. Now I'm bummed that I'm at work until this afternoon! Ha! I'll update as soon as I get home! I think I'm going to like the properties panel too -- especially for type.

Oh....didn't realize there was a new update. I'll head off to go do that now.

I really want to move to CC Photoshop. I'm currently using PSE 13. I'm scared that I'll be so lost. For those of you that have switched, was it an easy transition or is there a huge learning curve?

I guess I'd better check this out. I noticed the update, but hadn't noticed anything new. Oops, I guess I'm stuck in the same rut and just use what I'm used to using.

I've made the decision - once again! - not to upgrade PSE13 but to go CC in January. My Lightroom is LR5 and CC for a year is cheaper than buying the LR6 software @ $142. I tried last year but found I wasn't ready to invest the time to learn the nuances. I'm going to give it a go once more!

I switched from PSE10 to PhotoshopCC in May 2015. It was pretty easy. The few times I felt stuck I got help by googling or asking in a forum like TLP or Clickinmoms. I love it!

Cool...thanks for the info! I'm going to do some research and make a decision from there. :)

I switched from PSE about a year ago to CC. It wasn't too hard to adapt to it. I'm still learning new things that it does! Now with the new upgrade -- even more. I really like it!

Carrie ~ I've had both PSE and PSCC ~ alternating between the two for a long while. I made the move over to PSCC almost entirely this year (still use PSE to save for my PSE peeps). I wish I had done it earlier. I was relying way too much on PSE when I should have been exploring PSCC. You should at least give the trial a whirl, to see how the program "fits" you.

I'm intrigued by this. I have some svg fonts.

There's a learning curve. But it was pretty easy for me to go from PSE11 - PSE13 to CC. The biggest differences was figuring out that some shortcuts are different. But since you can change the shortcuts, it's no big deal. And Spell Check. Spell Check is awesome. The basic features are the same, and I don't miss the photobin at all.

Do you have a link to that video? I would love to watch it. I updated yesterday and I really like everything so far!

Updating this morning!!! I loved the last update! I'm off to watch that video! ;)

I switched about a year & a half ago- like previous posters- it was a bit of a learning curve but once you get the hang of it- it's SO much better! I would check around for a discount too! For the first year I only paid $7.99 a month instead of the $9.99 for the photography package. SO worth it!

Thanks! I do work for a school district so I might be able to get educational pricing. :)
