Pets can be awesome. But sadly, some just cause sneezing! And sometimes they just make messes! We have a dog - a border collie mix named Stitch. My son wants a cat, and a fish. I don't want any more right now!

Do you have any pets?

Over time, we've had guinea pigs, fish, hemit crabs. We liked the guinea pigs but they made a mess throwing bedding all over the place. And they were pretty shy so not all that interactive. Cleaning a fish tank was gross! One of our hermit crabs ripped his companion limb from limb and stole his shell. Um, that was quite the nature lesson. :D

Right now, we have 2 dogs - a Wheaten Terrier and a Maltipoo mix. They are both non-shedding and delightful dogs. I don't think I'd go back to any other kind of pet. I like cats but am slightly allergic.

we had literally everything when we lived in Brazil, but with a huge garden up front and a huge back patio/garden, it wasn't much of a problem (only the tortoise got lost and we never found her again LOL) but here in London.....we had a cat, because Sarita wante3d to have dogs but impossible in an apartment,...the cat, we had her for 3 years, but then we had to travel to South America 6 weeks and none could look after her so we had her adopted....I have been getting worse by the minute...even considering moving put as Sarita is driving me insane, so no LOL no pets right now!!!!

My husband and I had fish, a cat, a dog and a bird (quite the zoo!) before my first babies were born. Then over the next two years they all died and it was so upsetting, we said we wouldn't have pets again. But, a few years ago I started pining after a cat (specifically a Ragdoll) and my husband got me one for Mother's Day in 2014. I absolutely love her!!! Her name is Cupcake. She was over a year old when we got her and is just the sweetest thing! She is very social and follows me around the house all day. I would like to get a kitten one day, but for now we just have the one.

Here she is in a layout...

We have a 5 year old cat named Jeffrey and he kind of rules the roost haha. We also have a 3 year old dog named Sinatra (because of his bright blue eyes). We're not sure on the breed, he was a rescue, but we think some Australian Shepherd with other stuff mixed in. The vet said we could do a DNA test, but it's not really that important. He's pretty awesome, whatever he is. And then we have our 6 month old kitten named Blizzard. He is THE most annoying little cat ever! I love him dearly, but he drives me crazy.

We've had a little of everything through the years...fish, hamsters, frogs, turtles, lizards...and for some reason they don't seem to last long around here. What we have now is good and plenty!!!

Over the years we have had dogs, cat, hamsters, gerbils, fish and turtles but now that the kids are all grown, we've only had a dog and cat. We lost both of them within a year of one another and haven't been able to deal with getting another pet until now. I fostered cats for the SPCA for the past five years and we have just adopted one of them, an 8 year old female black cat who has the sweetest temperament. We still travel quite a bit so are lucky that our daughter has agreed to look after her when we're away.

We have had Taz, our little mini ginger colored labradoodle, for 3 yrs. After the devastation of losing our cockapoo sheltie Euker and then Sandy, our golden retriever, we were not sure if we could have another dog, but were were lucky to find Taz who is the best dog we've ever had. He's affectionate, smart, goofy and always ready to play.

We have an almost 3 yr old English Bulldog- Lucy Lou. She is our BABY! She is our daughter's best friend! We just found out that our son is allergic to her. :( We are going through some steps to lessen his allergies while still keeping her. We'd all be devastated if we had to get rid of her. She is the best dog- so smart, has an awesome personality & is better behaved than our human children most days! ;) Besides her, we've had the random fish here & there- of course they don't last long in our house for some reason! lol! We had a chihuahua when hubby & I were first married (he was our 1st baby!) but we lost him to a hawk incident. Really. It happens! It was crazy. My daughter said the rule for getting a new dog was they couldn't be picked up by a hawk or eagle- so we're good with our 65lb bulldog! I'm also allergic to many pets, so that's a nice way to tell my animal loving daughter no! :)

We've been through almost everything - two bunnies, two hamsters, lots of beta fish, 2 bearded dragons - my husband had cats before the kids, and now we have not one but 3 crazy dogs. You have to love them bc they are messy, hairy, and a lot of work. But the LOVE they give you back ... sigh. So good.

@amien1 -omg! so sorry about the hawk! we have them flying around our house bc we are high at the top of a hill - our vet always warned me about the little shih ztu getting taken off by a hawk. that's horrible!

We have a farm so have sheep, alpacas, goats and chickens. We also have 2 dogs which are outside dogs and recently added 2 kittens into the mix. I always so no more and then someone comes to me wanting me to rescue something and I end up saying ok.

Over the course of 32 years, we shared our lives with four different cats. In 2009, the last two died within weeks of each other and we were devastated. We swore we would never have another pet because of the heartbreak. This past March we had a cat show up on our deck and stay there for days. Lou is now part of the family.

we had to say goodbye to our 13 year old, Babette, this past summer....but we have a new pup we'll be bringing home New Years Eve!
we tried hermit crabs and fish, but neither seems to live very long in our home!

We have an very naughty greyhound and a very shy greyhound. Driving me insane EVERY SINGLE DAY!

We have a wonderful male black Labrador retriever. He is adorable and very loving. Over the last 20+ years we've had two other black Labrador retrievers, both females.

Our kids periodically ask for other pets but I put my foot down. No to rodents, lizards, insects, or fish. And we can't get a cat because my brother-in-law is highly allergic.

We have long haired chihuahua that my daughter rescued with her own money when she was 9. We think she's about 8 now. Her name is Mango and she's just a bit obnoxious, but she's my buddy. I forgive part of her behavior due to the fact that she was abused before we got her... she just doesn't trust people at first, but warms up to them quickly.

My kids won two goldfish at a carnival in Michigan one Fourth of July. But this past Fourth of July we came back to find the tank completely dry with no signs of any water anywhere on the counters or floors (we were only gone 4 or 5 days). Needless to say Bubbles and Pheven did not make it.

This summer my daughter bought herself a hamster (notice the trend here?). His name is Churro and he is adorable. I'm not thrilled that she got him, but so far, she's paid for everything herself (even hiring a pet sitter for him when we went out of town this summer). She's been solely in charge of his care too, so I guess I can't complain.

We have a wonderful male black Labrador retriever. He is adorable and very loving. Over the last 20+ years we've had two other black Labrador retrievers, both females.

We had a female black lab (Friday) as our first child and she was the BEST dog. I miss her so much. I would love to have another lab.

We have the sweetest, most unusual looking labradoodle, Taz and we all love him to bits!

We've had everything at one time or another, chinchillas to snakes. I prefer dogs 100% and now have a brother sister Jack Russell act - Debbi and Quagmire, and I DO mean an act. Oh the antics of these two!! I had their mom and dad as well, and have been disabled and home since these guys were born 11 years ago, so they're attached to my hip. It's ok though, I love them so much. My grands (whom I live with) have a blue Russian cat named Scally (Wag) and a bunny named C.C. All 4 animals are the exact same size, it's hysterical when they're hanging out together.

I love hearing about peoples pets :).

We have an outside cat. If it was up to my 9 year old we would have ALL THE ANIMALS. But with 7 kids I have enough to keep after. Plus my oldest seems to be allergic to most dogs & actually my 9 year old seems to be picking up new allergies by the hour. I think I'm going to have to have her tested.
