Well, which is it? What do you use at the grocery store?

We use paper.

paper! they all stand up straight in my truck. :p

paper then I use it to recycle small boxes, magazines etc.

No option for paper here - so plastic - but I do try to reuse bags when I remember to take them shopping with me

If I can remember my canvas bags, then I use neither. Otherwise plastic... which I recycle in one way or another.

Our grocery has a scanner so you can scan and bag as you shop and just pay at the end. (So you don't have to fill your cart up, empty the cart on to belt, and then re-fill cart = faster).... SO... I use what is available right next to the scanners.

We can bring bags - either - back to the store for recycling, so either next to the scanner work for me.

Paper. We live in a split level and I find it was easier to cart paper bags up the stairs than a bunch of plastic. Plus, Hy-Vee has the brown paper bags with handles, which are nice.

Jenn, that scanner thing sounds amazing though! Checking out with two little kiddos is the worst part of grocery shopping. That would make it so much faster.

This is awesome that you can scan as you shop! What a great idea ;)

We use a mix of paper and plastic. We like to have a mix on hand at home for different uses, so we use whatever we are low on at the time.

If I remember my reusable ones, those. But otherwise plastic. I recycle them in home use.

We don't have option of paper either. I use my canvas ones but if I forget then I will use plastic and like the others the plastic gets reused at home.

Has been plastic but my new year's resolution is to use reusable bags. So, I'm trying that now.

It is truly a time saver, especially with kids. And the kids like to help, and scan the items too! It's pretty durable, we've dropped it a couple times, lol! Every so often they will "scan check" and check to see if you scanned about 10 items in your cart. I guess for honesty, and it only takes about 2 minutes.

When it was new, everyone was asking what it was, and if I steal all the time, lol! Even better now, they have an app for it for our grocery store.

I always try to bring my re-usable bags, but if I forget, I will normally grab some plastic ones...which are re-used when we walk the dog. Ahem. LOL

Plastic here - they are reused... Recycled everything possible to stay green since then. Would like to switch to paper... Hasn't happened yet though
