Over the past couple of weeks, my socials has had many photos of kids going back to school. Some happy, some looking sad, some looking like they would prefer to not have their photos taken, which got me thinking. What was your favorite subject when you were in school?

I really enjoyed English Lit. My second favorite was History. At university we had to take a world cultures class and that was very interesting too.

I never liked math.

Did you have a favorite subject in school? Did you have one that you really hated?

I ended up majoring in English at university, and my love for literature and writing started in high school. I really didn't like science or math courses at all.

I didn't hate any subjects and I think my favorites each year depended on the teacher I had. I'm definitely stronger in word stuff than math stuff though.

I enjoyed the geography and social studies classes (American History and Ohio History) during junior high and early high school. Our high school in those days started with 10th grade and I took personal typing that year. Then as a junior I took Notehand (a form of shorthand geared towards those going to college). As a senior I took Bookkeeping to learn how to balance a checkbook. I was hooked on those 3 classes and chose a college major based on them.

Math has been my favorite since 5th grade when my teacher started letting me work at my own pace. English is my second favorite but I'm a slow reader and a slow writer so everything took me for.ev.er. to complete. I never liked history because our high school history teacher was terrible. I did like the economical history class I took my first year of college though; the textbook was more like a story so I had fun reading it.

Math in High School.
Psychology in college.

I love to read, but being forced to read a certain book is harder for me. Writing is not my fav at all, but I'm decent at it.

I’m a math, science and computers gal all the way! I don’t enjoy reading and writing so being forced to read books and write papers for English was torture. I’d much rather take things apart and put them back together to see how they work.

I was always into Math and Science and still am, but I also liked English stuff if the teacher was good. I didn't love History because it was always presented as a pile of names and dates that didn't have any relevance to me, so I couldn't ever remember any of it. In my adult life I've discovered that reading historical fiction is the way to get me to care about history. Lol.

I had a couple of teachers who only cared if you knew the order of history vs. the actual dates ... like the Civil War came before WWI ... it made history a lot more enjoyable and I like history!

I loved History- always wanted to learn about why and how things happened in our country and others. I loved to read biographies of English royalty and now love historical fiction. I also loved Art classes and ended up majoring in Interior Design, although I have never worked in the field. One of my most interesting classes was History of Furniture, as well as any class where I got to draw rooms with furniture, decor and artwork

English was always my favorite. I loved to write..which shouldn't be a surprise to some of you who know me well..lol.. oddly enough I was an English major in collage..well.. English education.. although I hate to read... and can't spell worth sh*t

I also loved history and astrology

I wasn't a big fan of math although I rocked algebra...

I was quite good at school overall and was on honnor roll throughout school... huge nerd..need...
And while I didn't need to.. I took 6 English classes my senior year of..for fun...lol...most of them writing based..such as newspaper and poetry

My fave was computers & web design closely followed by social sciences

I don't think that there was any class that I hated in high school. Biology was okay, but I loved Chemistry. I took all 3 years of advanced math - Geometry, Algebra II & Trig, Calculus. English classes were all good including AP my senior year. I loved AP US History because the teacher taught it like a college course. I liked AP European History but didn't particularly like the teacher. Loved taking Spanish all 3 years and even took a year of Italian.

In college, I got hooked on Psychology, majored in it, and went on to get a graduate degree in Developmental Psychology.

In high school, math was always my favorite and I still love math! I was never really a fan of history or science. In English/Language Arts, I was just really good at BS'ing my way through papers :giggle
In college, it was definitely Psychology! If I hadn't gone in to teaching, I would have majored in it.
