What's your dishes status? A lovely matching set? A mish mash of sets gone by? Mickey Mouse?

What do you long for?

I have... a hot mess. My dinner plates are white, square Corelle, which I love. My smaller plates and bowls are melamine from Target. :giggle

Someday I'd like a set of Fiestaware. But like, not all one color. ALL the colors. Would be so cute with my tiffany blue kitchen, too, yes?

For some reason, I'm always afraid that filling my cupboards with stoneware is going to pull them right off the wall, though. LOL.

I got a matching set about a year ago as we'd broken too many of the old ones for it to be usable. I kept the pasta bowls though so they don't match. I purposely bought a set that I can go and pick up replacements for as I know us too well...

ALL my dishes are white and match, my coffee mugs are rainbow but different patterns and I have regular glass for cups.
My daycare dishes are plastic and are a mixture of diego, dora and disney :p

I have a hot mess as well. I have Noritake China, Corelle, some other fancy white dishes, some walmart specials, etc. I would love to one day own a set of Fiesta. one day...

We have a nice set of Pfaltzcraft we got for our wedding (13 years ago). However, we normally eat off plastic plates I bought at Target on clearance.

We've got matching set christmas 2010, white & grey and the borders have a little pattern with silver... my parents thought we finally needed a set after the big mess we always had and a new house, means new dishes and all :) If we're talking about coffe & tea mugs, you don't wanna know...But most of those have 2 of each...hehe. Som have flowers, some are plain glass, some have photos on them (got those as gifts from kids who left daycare) and waaaay much more..hehe. Been thinking of replacing all that, to matching stuff.

I truly loooove this for tea parties and such....but of course could be used on a daily base :D

i have fiestaware :) and love it - they are so substantial ... but yea, i hear you on the heaviness - i'm always a little nervous about my cabinets LOL! i used to have a bunch of colors - but i've trimmed it down to navy, white and turquoise and am loving the way it looks when i open my cabinets :) now - if i could just get WHITE cabinets instead of brown i'd be in heaven!!

Hot mess here too. We have stoneware that we got when we got married (21 years ago). And a set of Corelle we got in 2001 that had a pattern on it that was similar to our kitchen wallpaper at the time. The wallpaper is long gone, and the pattern on the plates is so faded that now they just look dirty. :giggle We also have a smattering of the kid-proof plastic stuff still left. We have a total mish-mash of glasses and mugs, and the kids mostly drink from Olive Garden plastic cups. LOL

And then we also have a set of fairly ornate china that DH and I agonized over choosing when we registered for wedding gifts. It took us forever to find one we agreed on. We have used two of the place settings. Twice. The rest has never been out of the original sleeves they came in, and the pattern is not our taste at all anymore. :giggle

I really don't know what I would choose if I could have new. Probably just something sleek and simple. :)

We have nice stoneware green and white dishes, but we use the quirky little plastic plates from IKEA, melamine bowls from Target and paper plates more than anything. :)

I got a set of Corelle when we got married, but I don't really like the pattern at all. I'd really love to just have all plain white dishes. I recently bought a set of sleek white plates and bowls from IKEA that I love, but it's not enough so we're mixing and matching for now. Eventually I'd like to get enough of the stuff from IKEA to get rid of the older stuff. And since the kids are still little we have a nice collection of mismatched plastic plates and cups :)

Hey! I do have Mickey Mouse!! But I also have a 2 year old and 4 year old :)

We have a matching Corelle set with "service for 4". It's white with blues. I want the white with red. Actually, I want Fiestaware but not until the kids are older. We finally broke down and bought actual glasses, instead of plastic cups. We have a mish mash of random plates and bowls and cups for the kids.

That's another reason I want Fiestaware, the ability to buy it a piece at a time. "Service for 4" doesn't work for me. I already have coffee cups I love, and with 7 of us in the family, I'd need to buy at least 3 sets of it, then I'd have 12 coffee cups I don't want. I really should just buy a plate every time I'm at Kohl's. I'd have a full set in no time. :rofl

We have a Denby set that we use everyday. It's stoneware, and pretty heavy, but we love it. We registered for it in 2000 when we got married and it has held up beautifully. I have personally dropped stuff dozens of times and we've only broken one little rice bowl in the 12 years we've had it. Our pattern is the Energy, in charcoal. It is mostly a pale green color.

I have one nice set by Nautica that we got when we got married:

- They are nice and simple and elegant and will match any color kitchen which is nice

But I have a hot mess when it comes to our every day stuff - I really need to work on getting a new set even if it is cheaper and from Target, because I have a set of 4 only and we are a family of 5. My girls actually eat off of plates that they painted at a Paint a Pot place and they like those for now! So it's definitely a mish mash!

And don't even get me started on silverware!

totally mis-matched here! I'm waiting for a few more pieces to break so I can buy a new set. My current dinner plates don't fit in my dish washer :(

We have stoneware matching set. Got them about a year ago and love them. But we don't eat on it too often actually - like Tracy we use paper plates mostly or plastic ones. I am lazy and don't like to do dishes. ;)

When I moved 7 years ago, I gave away the set I had and got yellow stoneware with brown specks. I have plain glasses from Target. For outdoor summer parties I got some melamine BRIGHT stuff from Target with some bowls for salad or ice cream.

I'm now officially sick of the yellow stoneware but I'll probably keep it until I downsize homes in a couple of years and pick out something that I love then. Won't need nearly as many plates then!

After 20 years of mix and match (very ugly) dinnerware, we got this set last year

I love it, plain white with textured edges.

Also have bright red plates for the kids (supermarket variety)...

I have Fiestaware in 4 different colors that I love! Also use white Corelle for just everyday - easier for the kids to handle.
