Pad Patter: 8/29 - Can You Fix Stuff?

I lived on my own for awhile before I met my hubby and owned my own house. Anything that broke, was my problem so I just fixed things. I even replaced windows in that house. I did have a friend help me, but I still get credit, right? When we got married, my hubby was a little disconcerted about the fact that all the tools in the garage where mine. He is a handy guy too, just didn't own any tools yet. Now, I leave the fixing to him most of the time, unless I'm renovating a room in the house. That stuff falls to me as he hates projects that can't be finished in a couple hours.

i've got a handy man that is willing to tackle just about anything to save a few bucks ... so thankfully i don't have to do any of that stuff. i am so not mechanical. but, wow ... i'm impressed!

I think I'm handy. I can fix almost everything. And also I'm good about electronic devices too. I love mechanics and electronics. The only thing just to imagine "how it works?". when you answer this question, you can probably find the problem an can fix it. If something will cost so much time to call repair services or Hubby is great!

I will try to fix stuff, google, check YouTube to learn how to.

I hate it when my dh uses MY tools. He never puts them away right and then I can't find the one socket I need or whatever. Grr.

Exactly! I have a pink tool bag complete with pink tools. There's no reason he should borrow them. They're clearly mine! I have two of those little hammers with a screwdriver built in. They used to be in the kitchen drawer. Where on earth are they now? He can't remember. Grr.

If I don't HAVE to do it, I will leave it for hubby to do. he's much smarter at that stuff and is much less likely to break/ruin it.

But I will say that for a time while he was traveling a ton for work, I had to figure things out on my own, and I was pretty impressed. I've fixed toilets, washing machines, lawn mowers, and so on. If there's no one there to do if for me, I'll get 'er done.
