What got you to go to the doctor last?

I'm headed to the chiro today to try to see what's wrong with my back. Been pretty incapacitated all weekend, I can't even sit at my desk. HORROR! :tantrum

Oh no, so sorry about your back! The last time I went was last fall for an ear infection, which before that I hadn't had since I was four! crazy. Anyway, I haven't been for a normal check up/physical since 2009. Probably need to do that...:whistle

I wish there were less Dr. appt's in my life! I had one last week...had to get a referral to see a Neurologist.

Oh bad back, nothing worse... esp if it involves no computer time!!

I have been a few times this year, just a few niggling things and regular checkups but I'm back again tomorrow - apparently I have pleuracy (doesn't that sound like something from an Anne of Green gables or a Jane Austin book?) Not contagious but stabbing pains when I breathe, cough, laugh, all good fun...

I don't mind Dr's checkups (even the undignified ones...) but I will go all out to avoid the dentist!

yearly physical. i've been trying to be better about getting a real physical vs just the girlie stuff done every year...

I went because I was losing 2lbs. every day and had no appetite for over a week. Family made me go. Dr. said he felt it was a hormonal thing and he didn't do anything for me?!?!? I am still no better and still not feeling well. I am now looking for a new dr. I did, however, ask for blood work while I was there and he refused to do any. Not sure why he felt I didn't need any done.

I just went to the doctor a few wks ago for a prescription renewal. I have hypothyroidism so need to take a daily pill. Luckily I only require a low dose and it didn't take long to get me feeling back to normal. I eat healthy and exercise a lot so luckily I didn't gain more than a couple of lbs in the early stage of being diagnosed (many gain a lot of weight from this).

Erika - always good to get blood work and check your thyroid when losing/gaining weight so rapidly. I'm surprised your doctor didn't suggest that. Might be worth looking into. This could be a temporary thing and nothing is wrong with you and soon you'll be back to normal but if it continues, I might suggest getting tested, just to be sure. You never know.

BTW Angie...sorry to hear your back is buggered up. Hope the chiro gets it aligned and back to normal.

I went a couple weeks ago for a prescription renewal. Usually I just do that over the phone, but my regular doctor was on vacation. I didn't know she was going on vacation so I hadn't set it up so another doctor had permission to view my records, so I had to go talk to him to get him to renew.

Last time I went to the doctor for me was my 6 week post-baby appt... almost 4 years ago.

*ducks*

I think my last physical thing was a little over a year ago. My annual "girlie" thing and mammogram should be in October. I'm lucky to not have to go anywhere other than that at this point in my life.

My back is better after getting it knocked back in WWF style, but not better enough for all I did today, which included 1/2 mile swim. Argh.

I go get allergy shots every week. There are a few other appts I need to make - and I've been putting those off.

It's been at least this long for me. I honestly don't remember what my last dr visit was for, that's how long it's been.

a week and a half ago was my last visit. Changed drs as well so had a double appt - was trying to wait until next month but ended up with a stomach bug so wanted to make sure it wasnt anything more

I go every 6 months for a med check and blood work because they hold my prescriptions hostage. I suppose last time I was in for something that wasn't just a formality would have been when I broke my toe last October.

It annoys me that appointments with my PCP are always 2 months out. I figure if she didn't insist on seeing patients every 6 months for their prescriptions she could really free up a lot of time in her schedule. Haha.

Rae, funny you mention that because thyroid problems run in my family and I even suggested that. My Nana had hers removed. My Mom asked me the same thing and she found it odd that he didn't do any blood work at all. *shrugs* I have been going to him now for about 8 years and he still treats me like I am seeing him for the 1st time. The advice I have been getting is that it is time to find a new dr. :(
