Pad Patter 6.30.15: Craft Stores

My local Michales and Joanns are awful. Very little scrapping supplies and limited variety in what they do offer. :( So I spend a lot of time buying online - but I do still paper scrap and craft. ;) Hobby Lobby is just too far to travel to but I plan on visiting on this summer when we go on vacation in North Carolina. The craft stores are so much better down south than in New England!

And honestly, I have enough stash that I could open my own arts and crafts store, lol!

I went into Michael's last weekend for tea lights. I had both boys with me. They ended up with kinetic sand & I got a red ice cream maker! All my small appliances (except my stand mixer) are red, so it was calling to me. The sign said all ice cream supplies 40% off. You should have seen me carrying it to the price scanner. I may have been skipping. $17, my happiest purchase in a while. I also got the tea lights :)

Ooo a $17 ice cream maker? I am going to see if they have any at mine. I have one but it is a very old, very loud and super hard to use one.
Oh and I agree that the stores where I am don't carry a lot. I usually just get my adhesives at michaels or walmart and order the rest online.

I never met a craft supply that I didn't like. :giggle
In 2009 I stopped buying paper scrapbooking supplies, after switching to digital, but over the past couple of years I have found my way back into the craft aisles.

We have several craft stores very close in proximity and I am a frequent shopper at all of them. Hobby Lobby is less than a mile from our house. There are also 2 more Hobby Lobby's within 10 miles, as well as 2 Michael's and a really large Joann's.
I'm also happy to stalk the Target dollar bins and a few of the local Dollar Trees for seasonal craft supplies too.

Love craft stores. And office supply stores. My wallet doesn't so I make my trips few and far between.

Like Lindzee there is not much available to me. There is a Michael's about 25 minutes away, I don't go in often but when I do I usually buy a little something. Going in makes me feel inept....seriously, I don't knit or crochet, can't draw a straight line with a ruler or cut with scissors properly. I am so not crafty and yet wish I was, have tried but epic fails were the result. I did paper scrap years ago (my friend got me into Creative Memories) and had quite a stash but sold it all when I really got into digi.

My weakness is Best Buy and Costco....thankfully it is much easier to control myself at Best Buy as the things I am looking at are expensive, lol.
