i clicked on this thread after buying each kid a new multipack of socks today, sick of hearing, 'mum, i dont have any socks'
so apparently after reading through these responses. i'm the only one that experiences anxiety about mismatched socks and socks that are missing their mates?! it causes me serious stress - but then i find single unwashed kids socks in so many places around the house, it's a wonder i have any socks in the laundry to wash. We got to about 14 odd socks at one point last year and i swear i nearly had a nervous breakdown. I think statistically that should be impossible even in a house of 4 ppl. Personally, i thought some of them 'matched' but DH goes mental if his socks, even the same basic colour and brand ones, bought at the same time are mismatched because he reckons the elastic wears out differently (whatever), and DD 8y.o. is so particular about socks, the 'fluffiness', the 'tightness', the length, sheesh, it drives me up the wall - gee, i wonder where she got that from. DS 5y.o. would think it was awesome if he could wear mismatched socks but i dont think that's caught on here yet - i can't imagine paying money for socks that don't match!
so i'm assuming then that no one shares the same joy then of finding that elusive missing sock; i'd say it's similar to finding like some beloved lost pet?
