For me it has always been Math, so it's extra hard for me to see Bianca struggle and hate Math. What was yours and are your kids struggling?

My youngest has hit high school and been swamped with homework - he didn't mind maths but now hates it - took the school 5 weeks to achieve that- needless to say I am not happy!

I loved english and agriculture, hated PE...

errrmmm NOT Maths-

I loved Art-
History was also a delight and also Geography but had a teacher in second year secondary that put me of it....
and music, always music :)
Plus I loved PE but the doctors and my parents wouldn't allow me to do it (because of my congenital problem and after 9 operations they thought my hips could come out of the socket) so I would love it...just because I couldn't do it LOL

Math and my boys are both even better. My youngest is studying physics. Well I was smart once.

Is it fair to say I didn't have a favorite subject?! I didn't really EXCEL at anything in particular - just skated thru school without too much effort and did okay, but never enjoyed any of it! Well, maybe art and home-ech! I actually like shop class too - I was the only girl which pretty much rocked! I went to cosmetology school and so no college for me either. Now I work in the Financial Industry at a large RIA (Registered Investment Advisor), so not at all in the line of work I went to school for, or what I thought I would end up doing! Who knew!

ummm......dismissal? Seriously I hated high school and couldn't wait to get out. How ironic that not only do I work in one but I am at the very high school I graduated from and couldn't wait to leave. :giggle

My favourite class in gr. 11 was English because my teacher was very passionate and engaging. I also loved Man in Society in gr. 11, not because of the teacher (he was really weird) but the subject. Also gr. 11 History....yes gr. 11 was my best year :thumbsups

My son is good in math, phys. ed and accounting.....hates English. Took him to the end of the semester in gr, 11 to finally ask me to edit his essay and he rocked it (all his work I just edited) as well as final exam. This year he asked with the first one, lol.

I loved like totally obsessed with History!!! Then Math, I loved school, the learning part! The drama? not so much, but I love to learn!

I loved language arts (literature and writing) as well as history. My girls are strong readers and love to write. As well, my oldest is in AP US history this year and I've finally seen that spark a love for history for her too.

I loved Math and Calculus best (I was a nerd). My boys are both pretty good in math, especially my youngest who flies through school without any effort at all.

Math, Science, Art were my best subjects. My favorite was statistics, lol! Disliked Gym and History.

So far, my boys are good in Math, struggle in Reading and Writing. (I had issues reading as a child, and had a Reading Specialist. After her, I had a love of reading! I'm hoping my boys will eventually read and actually like it.)

Computers and Social Sciences were probably my two strongest subjects through high school

Languages! All of them.

My girls aren't in school yet, but Dagmar was language delayed and for a while, we weren't sure how bad it would be. I was a very early talker, and it was so frustrating to not be able to understand her when 'everyone else' her age was talking up a storm. They even suggested we only speak to her in Danish, and the thought of never being able to speak English to her was killing me, but fortunately she made some big improvements with a language specialist. We kept her in preschool an extra year and she's now within the average for (what is now) her school-group. She's speaking both languages now, and begging to learn Portuguese! Maggie hasn't had any issues yet. I'm curious to see how their interests develop!

School wasn't that much of a challenge. I liked art, English and math. I studied economics, but I work in IT so I'm not sure how much benefit my education actually was. I think learning to read and having a natural curiosity is probably all anyone needs. You can find everything else on your own.

in high school, my favorite classes were sciences (especially chemistry and physics), spanish, economics and i remember really loving my 12th grade english class. i didn't appreciate a love for history until after i got out of school - now i can't get enough of it!

my girls are still young (oldest in 2nd grade) - so i can't wait to see what they end up loving. for now - i am just really excited that both girls seem to enjoy reading for pleasure :)

Dalis,
My favorite was Math and then English... of course now that I am older I appreciate Social Studies (History) and Science but then, well they were up there on the scale. I helped many of my friends through Algebra (My absolute Favorite)!! Chorus & Art were my favorite electives and Gym/PE was my least favorite.

I didn't like Gym because I hated changing in front of people.. LOL I hated that the worse and was glad to have PE the last class as I was not taking a shower in GYM! :) Oh wow I still get cringes thinking about GYM.. and I found on I think an Antenna TV ad those awful GYM suits we had to wear in the mid 70's and they were absolutely the worst.

my fave was English. my kids struggle with it somewhat ... although both did Honors English, it is not their best subject. they tend to be really good at math ... and that was my downfall.

Math and Chemistry (all science really) were my favorite. I didn't really hate any subjects, but didn't love history or social studies. My sister was the English, Reading and Writing type person and hated Math, so I ended up having to be her tutor through the last few years of high school and into college.

I didn't do good in school, I did like typing and home ec (learned to sew)
