Vivi, the image wasn't working because you put in the URL for the whole page, not just the image. If you right-click on the image, there should be a way to copy the URL of just the image. It depends what browser you're using, but it will say something like "Copy Image" or "Copy Image URL".

Someone mentioned Apples 2 Apples, which is my absolute favorite in a group of adults. When my girls can read, I'm sure we'll get it out more!

This is one of the Danish board games we are big fans of.

Myretuen means "the ant bed" and you run a bunch of ants out of your hill and attack everyone else's ants. The ants are magnetic pieces, and to attack, you try to put your ant on top of the other. Either they snap together (you win) or they repel (they win). It's super fun to stack up a bunch of ants, and you never know if the next attack will go your way or not.

This one we've played every time we've had an open house at the preschool, and I bought it to give the girls for Christmas. (Shh, don't tell!)

It's just about finding images out of a big mess of images, but it's surprisingly fun, and good vocab practice for the girls.

We play Apples to Apples Jr Edition -- great for the kids (big and small) and has age appropriate subjects.

We also love to play Aggrevation - we have a homemade board using sets of coloured golf tees that is set up for 4 people (most game boards are for 6) -- we often play double, triple or quadruple dice (rolled at the same time) to speed up the game!

We're also big fans of Ligretto which is a fast a crazy game but very simple, just need to know colours and placing cards from 1 to 10! There is a green box, a red box, and a blue box and each box has 4 sets of cards of different colours, so up to 12 can play at the same time.

We also play a log of Blue-Orange games: Spot It!, Tell Tale (great for encouraging creative story telling), Yam Slam, Flash. We did get SpeeDeeBee, but it didn't take off like the other games. And Trigger! but this one isn't that playable for the young kids -- better for teens and up I think. And we have Quirkle - a great game too.

Set is another great card game for kids of all ages - you need to match on 4 different properties to create a set of 3 cards - great game and good brain training.

This is a great thread. My youngest loves board games and i needed to get him a couple more gifts for Christmas, so I just ordered him Blokus and Rummikub. I can't wait to play them over our Christmas break. :)
