Do you wear glasses? Contacts? Reading glasses? Just walk around blind? What's your deal?

I need glasses badly, but I keep putting it off. Why? I don't know. It's stupid.

I don't wear them anymore! I was born with bad eyesight and got glasses when I was 4 years old. I switched to contacts in 8th grade and wore those for 20 years until I got LASIK in 2007. Best money I ever spent. period.

I've worn glasses since I was 14. I tried contacts -- twice -- but they don't work for me. I have astigmatism so I have to wear weighted contacts. My eyes are horribly dry so that every time I blink, the contact turns, subtly changing the power of the contact, making me dizzy and giving me migraines. I tried eye drops, etc. but they were so uncomfortable that it just wasn't worth it. So I'm a glasses wearer for life. I generally like wearing them.

My eye doctor keeps telling me I'm going to need bifocals any time but so far I've managed to avoid that. My argument is that when I'm reading, it's generally online/on my Kindle and I'm able to just make the font bigger.

I wear glasses. I used to wear contacts, but they'd gotten to where they were making my vision worse because I have an astigmatism. My eyesight really isn't that bad and I can see fine without them… but the glasses help with the astigmatism part that distorts things a little bit. I need to look for some new frames.

I wore glasses long ago. Then I had Lasix surgery several years back. I was so happy to get rid of my glasses and be able to see. Now that old age is creeping in, I'm back in glasses...bifocals. I can't see anything in front of my face. I don't really need the distance correction, but the bifocals are so much more handy than having to keep putting reading glasses on and off. It stinks getting old!

I'm very nearsighted and have worn glasses (or contacts) since kindergarten. I don't walk across a room without them on. A couple of times I accidentally knocked my glasses off my nightstand during the night and I had to wake DH up to find them for me because I couldn't see well enough to find them myself.

I gave up on the contacts when I had kids. Glasses were just way easier. Now that my eyes are getting older, I have bifocal (progressive) lenses. Got them about 2½ years ago. They're still good for distance and computer work, but I've been finding myself pulling things close and reading under my glasses a lot lately, so I think maybe I need an adjustment. But since they were over $600, I'm not anxious to rush back in. :p

I started wearing glasses in 4th grade and wore them until 2002 when I got LASIK. Best money I ever spent!

Never wore them...but I think people started using smaller fonts in stores and books about 5 years ago. So I bought some magnifiers...100's of them and usually had one or two on my head at a time. Would lose them all, and be stuck.
Three years ago, I got real glasses, bifocals.
I hate them.
but need them.
I still lose them.

I wear glasses since 2nd grade I think it is. I don't remember anymore. LOL!!!

I've had glasses since I was a kid. I can't see the big E on the chart. I don't really have the desire to get contacts or LASIK. I'm just used to glasses, I guess. I mean, if I woke up with LASIK having been done already, I'd be like, that's cool, but to put any effort into it, eh, it's just not important to me.

I've worn glasses since third-grade. I am pretty blind. I usually have to pay extra for thin lenses so I don't walk around with coke-bottle glasses. I tried contacts back when I was 12 and haven't bothered since. I really hate having to touch my eyeballs. It grosses me out!

I am due for an eye exam and I keep putting it off. My eyes are tired and the headaches are coming back. I don't know why I put it off. I'm kind of afraid that I'm going to need reading glasses soon as well. I'm having a hard time with small type. Agh!!!!

I've had reading glasses for quite a few years now, but just changed to progressives. I've noticed recently that I need to use them more and more often :( Getting old I guess ;)

contacts 90% of the time. glasses late at night, so i don't fall asleep in my contacts.

I've been wearing glasses since 9yo. I started wearing contacts from 15yo to 25yo before problems started (dry eyes). Then I stopped for a very long while. Until 3 years ago. But then, another set of problem started again (sore eyes) a year ago. So now I'm back to glasses.

I am very tempted to go for lasik. But I knew of a few girlfriends having side effects that I'll stick to glasses and/or contacts. For now, ie.

Oh. Perfect timing. I just had to get new glasses last week (due to a lens popping out for the 100th time and my not being able to find it. Sigh). Of course, I was due for an exam anyway and got a new rx to boot.

I didn't need glasses until I turned 40. I mean, like almost the same month! Pitiful. I went from nothing to TRIFOCALS (talk about expensive). It took me 3 weeks to walk down stairs without holding my hands out in front of me, LOL.

About 10 years old, I developed a need for them to read. I would get incredible headaches just reading or doing school work. I got corrective lenses and after a couple of years, I didn't need them any more. About 6 years without needing glasses, and my eyes went the other way. Now I can't read street signs until I am on top of them, and if I am sitting on the opposite side of a room, I can't read the guide on the tv. So I have glasses for driving. But I don't need them for reading anymore lol

I started wearing glasses in 4th grade, switches to contacts in 7th grade and haven't looked back. I still have some glasses that I wear because they're cute but my main choice is contact lens. I'm pretty blind without them

I've been wearing glasses since 3rd or 4th grade. I wore contacts in HS/College but started having dry eye issues and went back to just glasses soon after getting married. I have a strong prescription so even w/ contacts, I would have to wear glasses at night. It was just so much cheaper to just get glasses and be done w/ it.

I wear reading glasses. I have them everywhere....in my car, my purse, my desk, kitchen counter LOL. I've been known to comment that I need to find my glasses (when they are on the top of my head).

Nope I don't but I think being 45 means it's coming soon! Sometimes I feel like it takes a bit longer to focus than normal.
