What are you shopping for?

Did you fill up your TLP cart with DYD goodies?

Did you brave the actual stores this morning?

Do any shopping online?

Get a great deal on something?

Sleep in? <--- This was me.

You couldn't get me into the stores if they were giving the crap away. Seriously.not.worth.it. to me. I took Tuesday off and I'll get my shopping done then when everyone (hopefully) has gone back to work.

No online shopping either (yet). Not sure if I'll try to get some of my online purchases today, or wait until Cyber Monday.

That's what I say, too. NOTHING is worth all that. I get annoyed if 2 people are in line at the grocery store, so BF shopping definitely would not be for me. lol

I'm shopping TLP store DYD sale right now, so many great goodies. And no, I cannot actually go shopping black friday sales, I'm with her^^, even if they were giving stuff away I still wouldn't, lol!

I took my teenager out at midnight to go Black Friday shopping. It was insane out there. We only managed to shop two stores (Hollister and Pink) in 3 1/2 hours because of the lines. At 3:30 am, I was DONE. I might add that I hate the mall. Only a mother's love was sufficient reason to brave that craziness. LOL

I am working on my DYD today and tomorrow, so lots of TLP stuff in my cart today. Ahhh - a much better way to shop :)

Agree with everyone above! I'd much rather be in my cozy house with the Fam than out there with hundreds of crowds in the cold. Gosh, the TLP sale is insane! Such beautiful things.

DH still isn't working much so no holiday shopping yet for me (he just cashed in his retirement so waiting on that to come in before we do anything more than buying groceries and gas). I'm pretty sure DH would have been standing in line for television if he could have though. You couldn't get me out there for any reason, I have no patience for crowds. I can't even shop at Walmart on a normal weekend day without getting irritated (I've been known to leave my cart and walk outta the store in the middle of September..lol).

I did a bit of both - online and in stores. I had decided not to go in the stores because we really didn't have much to get, but after getting my online shopping done at 10 AM, I headed to the mall with my mom. We got a few clothes for us, and then she bought all her Christmas gifts for her friends at Macy's. So she was happy, and we didn't have to fight the crowds. DH was even happier, since he got to stay home. :giggle Next on the schedule for today, put up the tree! :)

I was dissappointed that the sales started so early, because by the time I got off work, everyone was already open and running out of deals! I got lucky though. I used Walmart's price match and got ALL the deals I went for at one place! I also somehow lucked out with no line (people were waiting until 10pm to pay for their 10pm sale items), so I went right to the front of the line and was in and out in 30 minutes. Although, as a lifetime black friday shopper, I have to admit I miss the early morning standing outside in line part of it all. Something about knowing only the most dedicated shoppers were there in line, the adrenaline, etc. I felt like I was missing out by being done and home before bedtime!

oh, and i bought a nook simple touch, a 16gb micro SD card, a new wireless router, and a video game for my nephew. Only one of those four were actually on sale at Walmart ;)

I went nowhere near the stores... if I set foot in a store other than the grocery store between now and January I think I might scream. People are so rude this time of year.

My husband on the other hand has been out all day - he's still out. He loves picking through the BF leftovers. He is shopping with a purpose - we adopted a family for Christmas. The 20 year old has Downs Syndrome, so she is developmentally about 7. He's having a blast shopping for her and her brother ans sister (17 year old twins). He's having fun shopping for them too! Especially since his shopping for our own 5 children is complete. :)

Oldest is currently at bowling practice - he's on the school bowling team. They had an optional practice today. Since he's still a rather new bowler, he decided he should take advantage of the free bowling time being offered. We usually pay for his weekend practice time (not pre-arranged with the school or the bowling alley)... so free practice time is good!

I am nursing a pinched nerve in my neck/back and just trying to survive as pain free as possible until I can get to the doctor on Monday. My arms and hands are alternately going numb/tingling - so glad it hasn't hit both arms & hands at the same time. :) It's also causing what whale of a headache. :( Limiting my computer time.

I did a little online shopping and then L.J. and I braved the mall, but not until around noon. It was still pretty crazy (for our little mall anyway), but I got a couple good deals on clothes at JCPenney without too much hassle.

I used to go out at midnight years ago, but I just don't have the patience now.

My daughter and I went this morning for the first Black Friday event here in Edmonton, but it was very disappointing. Not many stores even participated and the ones that did didn't have very good sales. But we had fun together anyway :)

well i dunno wether to be envious that the uk dont do black friday or grateful, but i have done some tlp shopping and scrapped with it too

i hit amazon for connors birthday gifts.. and laid in bed till like noon ^_^ i finally braved the world to do laundry and go to the market just now :p

I won't go anywhere near a store today! I don't have many gifts to buy either. I was thinking about getting myself a new lens, but the deals aren't that good and I really shouldn't spend the money.

I think Black Friday is kind of depressing.

I did Black Friday one year, probably about 3 years ago (*ONLY* to say that I did it) and it was NUTS. And, all we did was Old Navy and the line was wrapped around the entire inside of the store. I was delirious that I bought two of the same pairs of jeans. So tired. Will NEVER. Do. THAT. again! Same thing happened when we stopped by WalMart on the way home, we couldn't even find a parking space and finally when we did we went in and the store had so many lines going all over the place we just left. Ridiculousness at it's finest!

Wow, Kudos to you Laura! You're one patient and good mom!

Online shopping is soooo the best way to do shopping this time of year. Come to mama, Amazon! I'm not a crowds, waiting in line kind of girl... puts me in the worst mood. :whistle

Black Friday is something my mom and I always do together..for as long as i can remember we would wake up early and get cappucino before heading to the stores. When I was old enough to drive, we would go to different stores, but talk to each other on the phone all night! We live in different states now, but I still talked to my mom while she was in line for an hour last night! It's something that is totally OURS, and a fun tradition to uphold all these years!

so here's what i did...
i'm not a black friday hoopla kind of girl. it's not my thing. it kind of disgusts me really how perfectly normal people can turn into killer zombies when you mark a movie down to $5. dumb.

that being said, my mom was here. and she LIKES to go shopping. so i said i would go. blech.

so before we went, thursday afternoon i shopped amazon and found everything i wanted. i put it in my cart but didn't check out. then i printed my cart and took it with me to the insanity stores. i did a price comparison on everything i was planning to buy. and without fail - truly, on EVERY SINGLE THING - amazon was cheaper. so i bought almost nothing at the store. then i went home and clicked 'check out' on my amazon account. and as a bonus, i paid with my discover card and saved almost $80 somehow (i think it's from discover's cash back deal for the month or something??). so yep, christmas shopping done. i am a happy girl.

I did all of the above!

I truly hate the whole black friday thing, and avoid going out at all costs, but when we went to put up our tree today and none of the lights worked, I decided to venture out. I found a really good deal of pre-lit trees and it wasn't until 1 pm so the crowds weren't bad. Plus I was just there for the one item so I was in and out pretty quick.

Slept til 8... found a few deals on Amazon... and of course found some goodies here at TLP. :) So good shopping day all around.

I finally got my first external hard drive! Yay! It was on sale at Staples so DH picked it up on his way to work. There was no line at all! Kind of sad for Staples. I also got two thumb drives on sale to use as backup since I can't afford a second external hard drive. I now have multiple thumb drives with my scrapping stuff so it will be nice to have everything on a hard drive. It should last a while since it is 2T.
We also have this thing called double take deals where you pay half price to get local gift certificates. They then had a coupon code for $5. We got a $20 gift certificate to the local pizza place for $5! Also got a gift certificate for car inspection, emissions test and tire rotation for $10! Still haven't purchased any Christmas gifts but we got stuff we needed without waiting in line!
