What's your "work area" like? Laptop on the couch? Custom built desk with shelves? Cheapo from Wal-Mart? In an office or in the living room? Clean or dirty? TELL US!

We have a little den with wood panel walls (see photo in my marathon thread lol). We each have a corner desk. I have file cabinets on my side, and my dh has a second, straight desk. His side looks like a bomb went off, my side stays relatively clean. I have learned to not look over there. lol

I do have a laptop but it's old and crappy so I never use it. It has Windows XP on it, if that dates it any.

Laptop and big comfy chair :) But I do also have a clutter catcher (um, desk) in the closet in the den

I have a cheapo desk from Target that I usually sit at with my laptop. It is pretty simple but exactly what I wanted.....top is flat (no hutch or shelf for a monitor). It has a big drawer that is full of papers, pictures, etc...but big enough for hanging file folders, a smaller drawer where I keep my bill notebook, school directories for the boys, a few pens and markers and my chapstick. There is also a shelf where I keep my 3 EHDs, my tablet and a few other misc things......on top sits my laptop, mouse, bill organizer, small notepad, TV remote, checkbooks, coaster and a coffee cup!!!!

My "office" is the living room...right across from our "classroom" (dining room) and close to everything.

I do have a pretty big laptop tray that I use when I want to stretch out and scrap in bed or if I need to go down in the basement with the boys. Hubby got it for me when I was pregnant with Little D and was on bedrest!!! I love the tray b/c it is big enough for my widescreen laptop and my mouse!!!

There was a custom built desk area in the kitchen already when we bought our house. I did have a cheap desk in my room for a little while but I like it in the kitchen nook now and it's a good central place for it to be and it keeps me from staying up late in the night like I would when it was in my room.

oh I am terribly spoiled regarding my scrap space....teehee....we just renovated my scrap/design room. And I have a photo of the not quite finished result. Still need to put all the knick knacks up but I can't decide on what I want exactly so it's still pretty bare but I think you get the idea.

I am in scrap heaven with my little kingdom and have practically been living there the past weeks...♥♥♥

laptop on the couch - on a lap desk. I wished I could say that my space looked like Mirjam's - wow - that is beautiful, but it does not look like that at all! So cool Mirjam!

Right now it's the laptop in Dusty's chair when he's not home. :) When he is home, I have to sit on the couch.

I have an office in a room next to the family room. It has french doors so even if I close it, it still appears open. It's a big long desk (from Ikea) and I have the corner area and my dh has the other end. Normally my side is neat and tidy, but his is ALWAYS a mess! He's studying for a test right now so he has books and paperwork everywhere. No excuse for mine!

There is a wall to wall bookcase in there that I need to get nice baskets for. I've been saying this for 10 years though. Also, a stand with DVD's...that no one uses anymore. I have maybe 1000 of them...I need to have a garage sale!

This is also where the downstairs kitty litter is. I HATE that part, but there really is no where else out of sight downstairs, so in the office with me it goes. :(

I am at a laptop at the kitchen table. I have an office desk, but I usually want to be near my family and watching TV while I'm designing or scrapping, so I usually take my laptop into the kitchen and sit at the table. I will have my very own office (with a door!) in the new house, but I suspect I will still sit at the kitchen table so I can be near everyone.

I have a 'spot' on the couch where I sit with my laptop, Diet Coke, & snack(s) and watch Netflix and Hulu while I scrap. That's it. Nothing fancy. :)

Oh, mirjam, your work space looks so lovely!

Since we had the baby this summer, we turned our always messy office into his nursery, so now I have my iMac in our living room on a little tiny Ikea desk with a totally run down office chair. On the plus side, the desk is so tiny that there's only so much room for clutter. But I am craving an office right now!

We have built in bookcases on one side of our fireplace in the family room. We have two computer stations set up there. My laptop and my youngest DD's computer. Because I have a laptop I can also work in my office or on the couch at night when we are watching tV. I like being in with all the action versus being in my office.

My actual desk is my childhood desk and my work table is our first dining set that we bought. I love it because it's pub height so I can stand to scrap :) The desk will be getting a makeover soon...a chalkboard top and bright pink base...painting it is on my long list of deployment to-do's.

I have a desk from an office store. It's probably 12 years old. It has a keyboard tray, two file drawers, and two shelves. The right end of the top is at a slightly higher level. I think it was originally designed to accommodate a printer or something, but we have the printer on a separate stand. It also has an enclosed area for the computer tower, but mine is too huge and hot to go in there, so the tower sits off to the side and the cabinet is filled with my stash of cardboard and such for my designing. LOL

The desk sits in our family room. I originally had it in another room, but it just didn't work with needing to be available for the kids, so we moved it. I would love it if there were a way for me to close it off to cut out the noise when I need to, since it's really hard to concentrate a lot of the time. :thumbsdowns

As far as condition, it is always a total disaster zone, covered with my design stuff, kids' school info, and just random junk. Every couple of months or so, I'll get the bug to clean it up, but I never ever actually get it more than about 50% done before I get too busy and give up. :p

We have a tall square 4' x 4' table that we use for a desk in our "office" (aka catch-all room). It is a cluttered mess most of the time. DH and I have desktop computers back to back and face each other. I have a laptop that I loaded PSE onto, but I'm not used to using the laptop anymore so it drives me crazy, and it seems like it takes me twice as long to do something.

I have a desk up in the office, but I haven't worked up there since I got Penny since she gets very annoying when she can't snuggle with me. Mostly I work on the couch. I have two snack tables - one for my laptop and one for all the other stuff that piles up! It's hideous!

My desk is in our living room with the family all around so I am part of all that is going on whether I like it or not! Hubby and I share it and most of the time it is great as we can fit both our computers on it (unless we are having a domestic and then I have to grit my teeth to scrap lol). Its a second-hand desk but it suits us just fine for now..... one day in the dim and far off future I would love to have a work space just like Mirjam's (so jealous it looks amazing!) :)
