Are you a crock-pot queen? I didn't know what a crock-pot was before moving here to the Midwest. Just in case a crock-pot is an electric pot you set up in the morning and it cooks really slow for hours. It's also called a slow cooker.

In Puerto Rico we have pressure cookers instead of slow cookers. They are the exact opposite, pressure cookers cook really fast tougher kinds of meats.

I want to know if you are a slow cooker queen or pressure cooker queen and what's your favorite recipe or tip.

Today's it was a fail.... I knew it was not going to turned out... but I tried.

I bought one of those mcormick's slow cooker packages to make pulled pork... and I bought a few others.... well... first of all... I opened the wrong one, then noticed that apparently I also needed ketchup and brown sugar and vinegar. I had vinegar but no ketchup or brown sugar (which we finished last weekend). So the pork was already opened and in the crock pot, so I decided to add maple syrup instead of brown sugar and instead of ketchup I added 1 beer and a bit of wine... and I was going to add tomato sauce and totally forgot. I was cleaning up to leave when I noticed that I just poured the Mcormick seasoning for the chicken and not the correct one.... oh well... I got home just now... It smells delish and it has NO TASTE what so ever, so now I added tons of spices and tomato sauce and salt... we'll see... wish me luck.

I use mine at least 2-3 times a week (I have baked potatoes in mine at the moment)... with the kids' evening activities, if I didn't use it, we wouldn't have dinner! Our favorites are sweet and spicy kielbasa, easy slow cooker refried beans and salsa verde chicken. All super simple meals.

The kielbasa one I have to type out, but here are links to the other two...

I want to use mine more, I just got the "set & go" from Hamilton Beach... I love it, but am having a hard time getting good recipies. We're watching our calories as well, so I'm finding it challenging.

I have yet to master either - I think I've tried the crock pot once. But I do like when other people cook with them. My mom's pretty good at crock pot stew and my sister makes a mean fricase de pollo in the pressure cooker.

I am a pressure cooker queen. I cook beans, peas, chicken... oh lots of things in very little time.

I use the crock pot from time to time, but on average don't use it on a regular basis.

I'll watch this one to see if there are any recipes I think my son (Mr Picky) will like. My problem is that he doesn't care for anything in a gravy, sauce or soup. Oh and he's 20 so his picky is ingrained! Chicken he loves, though pretty much any way he can get it.

I love mine...(I have 5 big ones) and usually have two going at once. I make beans once a week, do a huge pork roast also in the other with some spicy spice, for shredded pork (I use that meat a few times and freeze the rest for down the road). I love chicken in it...no water...on low, then throw it on the BBQ for a crunchy outside, moist inside.
I make chili in it, nacho cheese and keep mash pots warm for serving later(make early in day, keep warm in crock).
I also have a big ol' roaster, and I cook everything fromturkeys to potatos in it.
Anything i can do large copious amounts of food in is a blessing to my life!

Oh I love my slow cooker!! I don't use it every week but when we were driving a semi I used it almost daily. I actually have a cooking on the truck group on FB where truckers share their meals they cook on the road; you'd be amazed what they can cook on the road without all the gadgets we have in our home kitchens! Just a few days ago a lady made a layered cake in her slow cooker while the truck was moving down the road!! :) I still make our favorites from on the road like beef stew, chili con carne and lots of soups in ours :)

I love making chocolate molten lava cake in the crock pot.

I used to use the crockpot all the time, but then I got a pressure cooker. Oh, heaven. There is so much more flavor in the pressure cooker and it's so quick compared to the slow cooker. My husband refuses to let me toss a roast in the crockpot anymore, it has to be pressure cooked.

I have both,oh come on I am the gadget queen,I do love my slow cooker cause I like the idea of preparing it and leaving it to do its thing,I have a fad on it and sometimes use it loads and other times it gets stuck under the cupboard

I have a slow cooker and should really look into more recipes and use it more! I make beef or chicken casserole in it but not on a regular basis

I use mine about once a week. It would be more but I always forget to put the stuff in. LOL

My standby is a pot roast. Just the meat, carrots, potatoes, a packet of dry onion soup mix and a can of cream of mushroom. Super fancy. :giggle

Crock pots are not sold in Denmark. Mine was imported from the UK and then had the plug switched to an EU one. Some of my American friends have bought theirs in Germany. I don't know what Denmark has against awesomeness, but I love my crock pot. When I am at my awesomest, I have several meals bagged up in the freezer than can just be dumped in in the morning so I don't have to think. <3

Say what you will about the fanciness level, but this is one of my fave meals! lol Even my veg-loathing husband likes pot roast carrots. mmmmmm

I also love a good fauxtisserie chicken from the crock pot.

I have never seen such a thing in my life :huh. OOHHHHH, it has something to do with COOKING? I try to avoid cooking when I can... I can't, but I'm trying. But I'm doing NOTHING sophisticated in my kitchen, that's for sure ;)!

It depends. I hate veggies in the crock pot and I don't like roasts, so those 2 things are out. I do use it to cook a whole chicken a few times a month. I've used it to "bake" potatoes, love it for BBQ chicken or BBQ pork. My favorite things to make in it are french dip sandwiches or shredded pork for burritos.

Then it would be perfect for you! You just put all the ingredients in it before you go to work and when you come home: dinner's ready :)

i adore my crock pot. i need to get one that has a time on it, though, so i can set and forget.
