Oops! I Forgot! | Pad Patter 12.8.22

If I’m in a store and remember something I need, I have to add it to my list in my phone or I’ll forget it before I leave!
I use a written list. Good thing because yesterday I completely forgot my phone! As I write things down I put them in sections of the store, grocery at the top, pharmacy/other areas at the bottom. Yesterday's item was a late add and got added at the bottom since I had no space in the grocery area. I had already gotten everything else before it on the list so I didn't even look at the bottom. Learned my lesson... squeeze it in the right area :)

My worst forgetfulness is forgetting people's names. I hate that. Sometimes it even happens with people I know well. Like, I've passed students I worked with last year at school and they cheerfully greet me by name and I return the greeting but I'm wracking my brain trying to remember their name.

Ditto!

My "fav" thing to forget though is when I grocery shopping ... even when I go with a list, and mark things off the list as I put them in the cart, I STILL managed to forget a thing or two most every trip. Of course, I've been doing that for decades!

I have joked many times after finishing grocery shopping, "I wonder what I forgot this time . . . " :P

My dad uses written lists and I love seeing them. I need to take a picture of one so I can scrap it.

I hate that too Michele! I feel so bad when I know their name but can’t think of it right in the moment!

I think this is the story of my life. This morning I went to the store specifically to get an energy drink for my dh. Got sidetracked by something else, got back to my car and realized I had forgotten the drink. So back in to the store I went.

One time I forgot that I needed to pick up my child from piano lessons. I finally get there and he's waiting outside for probably 30 minutes. He told me he was about to start walking home....he was totally serious. We only live about 3 miles from our piano tutors house, but you have to cross a four-lane highway. I told him that if I ever forgot again, he should go back in and tell his tutor to call me.

I also forget people's names all the time, like @michelepixels Even people I know really well.
I was making an announcement at our homeschool group, in front of over 50 people, and had to call up one of my own tutors and I totally blanked on her name. I had to point to her until someone told me her name. We all still laugh about it.

OMG yes...time zones. I know I live in CT and chats/scraps are ET but I continually mix it up! lol Alexa isn't alot of help. I wish she knew we were in CT and could correct me!

At least you realized what you were missing in your car! I usually don’t realize until I’m all the way home!

One time I forgot my kids had early out day at school so when the school called me I thought someone was sick or injured. Nope; I just forgot to pick them up. My kids would much rather call than walk home haha

Your homeschool tutor story would totally happen to me! I’m glad you can laugh about it now.

Yep I’ve done that too!
