I feel like there should be some amazing special thing about today with the 12.12 staring at me. But it's not happening. :lol2

The holiday season always seems to bring out the worst in people (in general). Like yesterday. My husband got annoyed and honked at a car that wouldn't pull out onto a busy road. We assume it's because she wanted to cross 3 lanes to get to the left turn lane. At drive time. :madnessSo, we waited. Car wouldn't pull out. There was no hope of them getting all the way over, because the left lanes were backed up farther than our parking lot exit. So, he honked again. And again as the parking lot exit was backing up and now 8 cars deep. Finally, the car pulled out and blocked all three lanes of traffic. We turned right, and I noticed the driver cut back across the traffic to follow us. Turned out she followed us for about 8 minutes just so she could pull up next to us and flip us off. I waved. So, she rolled down her window to make sure we saw that she was flipping us off. I laughed because she drove about 15 minutes out of her way to do that. So, after having interesting interactions with the public, let's chat!

What's one good thing right now to you?

(Oh, and in case you are worried, if she'd followed us through the next light, we were going to go to the fire station, not home.)

Apart from the fact I have a job interview next week......the other good thing that’s happening now is I’m having more good days than bad when it comes to this unexplained vertigo when rolling on to my left side in bed that I’ve had for the last 5 weeks. Thought I’d turned the corner and it had gone a week or so ago but that was only temporary relief.

I have power. From a few days ago when the load shedding was stage 6 (sabotage apparently) to stage 2 again (only going off 2x a day for 2 hours) I can scrap in air conditioned luxury.

One good thing?
1. Well, I woke up! lol. We take that for granted. In my family's line, many members have either died in sleep or just suddenly but uneventfully " gone". So occasionally I remind myself that waking up, breathing should not be assumed and I should be glad.
@bestcee :Can I do more than one?:hehe ( this is therapeutic for me right now!) If not I will just ask forgiveness, LOL!
2. I'm glad that though DIL is estranged and still keeping grands away through Christmas, my son is talking to us! He even came by to see me for a few minutes and gave me a hug! :beatAnd he is healthy as are all in his family. :) I don't get to see the photos on FB, but there is an elf on the shelf that sends some to me so I know that my littles are having happy moments in spite of this, so that gives me some peace. :hammock:agree:angel

AND... (wait for it!)

@bestcee - LOL! Wow. At least you provided a wee bit of exercise and flex for her hand!!!
@cinna 7 @cinderella -so weird that you both ( similar user names) were sick at the same time!
@Eyeore Stefanie, I feel ya. We deal with power outages often in the summer here.

I am DONE with the photo book I made as a gift for my in-laws! That thing had been weighing on my for while now. I feel free again... lol! I just had guilt that any time I sat down at my computer, that was what I needed to be working on, now I'm free to play again :-)

What?!?!? I don't understand that! My daughter's boyfriend had something like that happen this week as well. I don't know the whole story but at a light, where after the light the street went from two lanes to one, the car in the lane that was ending sped up to try to cut Clara's bf off. But being a teen boy, the bf sped up as well and kept the other car from merging (was this the best idea? no probably not... but was it a horrible idea, no, not really since he was in the lane that didn't end). As he passed the other car, the other driver flipped him off and proceeded to follow him HOME!! When he figured it out, he didn't even slow down at his house, he just kept driving aimlessly for 10 minutes or more, finally losing the car after a quick turn. What is wrong with people???

One good thing! So when Emily was born she had a bump on her spine, but no other markers for anything being wrong, so we could either x-ray or wait & see what it did. We waited until this week for the x-ray since it was still there & she's 2.5 months now. X-ray results today say no abnormalities!! YAY!!! That's the best news!

(And ugh for rude drivers. I had one once pulling out at a fast food place. We needed to wait for our food, so pulled up as far as we could replacing the last people that were waiting. Well the next driver didn't think we were far enough for her to fit around the small area, so when she pulled out she threw a cup of water at the car. Obviously there was room for her to maneuver out. She just didn't like that this wasn't as convenient for her. UGH)

@AJK I had a "older person" tell me recently "Well, I woke up on the right side of the sod." I loved that.

@bestcee we're used to rude drivers - especially during Season. Our population swells and everybody seems to bring their "regional driving rules" with them. It's a pain to go anywhere - we residents take a back seat during Season. Anyhhoo......one good thing? everybody's healthy today. Our DD and GS have had mild flu symptoms in the last few days.

It's been a rough week, so I'm so glad to see this thread with tidings of joy.

My husband is able to take off the week of Christmas, my daughter will be able to have time off that week as well (even though she's only been working at her new job for a couple of months), my son will be out on break from school, AND I will be able to take a few days off myself! I'm excited to be able to hang out and enjoy my little family (and extended family as well as friends)!

I fractured my toe yesterday but it wasn’t dislocated too so I was really happy about that!

@EHStudios - That is terrific!!!!!! yea!!!!!

@Cherylndesigns I can relate; when we lived in Myrtle Beach (9 years) it was like that. With only ONE main drag Hwy. 17:

traffic is challenging to say the least! It is the ONLY place I have been in 3 countries, 21 states that I have ever been where they STOP at a green light! :crazy3
Glad everyone is feeling better!:agree

One good thing for today....I finally booked us the fly tickets to Berlin!!
For 5 days, just me and my husband with no kids or dog involved no house cleaning ... i cant wait!

This is the first December that my husband has been retired for. We've been doing more holiday tasks together and doing more holiday fun things together as well. It feels really good to just enjoy doing everyday things like this last Tuesday for example. We went to see "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood", stopped at Walgreen's to pick up our photo cards and a prescription, drove to Oshkosh to go to the outlet mall, and had dinner out. After being married almost 43 years, it's such a comfort to just be happy together.

This totally sounds like Sanibel Island!! We LOVE that place, but not during Season! There's one main LONG road that you have to take - called Periwinkle and it's a nightmare during Season. It IS :crazy3

One good thing is hard to stop at. :)

We are totally ready for Christmas except for a little baking which will happen next week and I also need to make a batch of fudge. Gifts are wrapped and stockings are stuffed and ready to go. I have time to just relax and enjoy the holiday season!!

It snowed good last night and we have days of snow lined up waiting to happen!!! And we don't have to go anywhere on the icy roads unless we want to.

And none of us are sick with any of the bugs going around!!!!

So many blessings!!
