I always keep my Stephen King books because most likely, I will read them again. I've read Insomnia and Bag of Bones three times each. I've read a lot of his books twice over the years, and I really feel like going back to read 11.22.63 again. I also re-read Mrs. Piggle Wiggle books from childhood multiple times. :giggle

So are there books you read and then re-read later? What is your most-read book, and how many times have you read it? What is it that makes it so compelling for you?

So cheesy, but I've re-read The Thorn Birds more times than I can ever count. I love that book!!

I love to re-read books and whole series. I've read The Clan of the Cave Bear series a couple times, The Passage and The Twelve twice each and I re-read The Bronze Horseman series twice now too. I re-read the Twilight series and the Hunger Games too. And I re-read The Forgotten Garden because I couldn't remember exactly what happened in the end. It's the only good thing about having a terrible memory, I can re-read books and get just as much enjoyment the second time around. :giggle

Swan Song by Robert McCammon, The Gap Series by Stephen Donaldson, The Northern Lights by Phillip Pullman, The first Liveship Trilogy by Robin Hobb. I actually read a lot more genres than sci-fi and fantasy, but these are the ones I can read again and again. There's something compelling about a fantasy world where anything can happen. I don't like predictable stories, I always want a twist!

It's funny though, because even though I know what's going to happen in the end I always get a thrill every time I read these books.
Another thing these books have in common is the characters - good, bad and in between I love all of them :)

I read One Day by David Nicholls at least once a year. Some years I read it in both English and Danish - that's how much I love the book. I once bought it once we were in Norway just so I could read it in Norwegian as well. Pretty silly I know :)

I generally do not reread books, but I have some exceptions.

I reread all of the previous books in the series each time a new Harry Potter book was released (I actually recently got the itch to read the whole series again).

84 Charing Cross Road... sigh. Such a simple, beautiful book. It's a quick easy read, so it's my go to when I need something to fill a specific amount of time, like the day I had jury duty. I think I need to read that one again soon.

And then, for some reason, The Secret Garden is on my list of books that I'll read over and over.

Okay. Don't laugh... i swear I'm older than 13. I have re read all of the Harry Potter books, and twilight books, at least 6 or 7 times. And I STILL get "book hangover" after I'm done. I really like them for "easy reading". I've also read a few series books by Nora Roberts multiple times. I love love love series books. And part of that is knowing I can continue with the same characters for awhile.

Stand alone books... I've read "Little Women" 4 times, I think. And a book called "Impulsive" by Catherine Hart.... Read that half a dozen times. I like to re read books, apparently. Lol

I love that book and read it about 4 years or more ago. Might re read one day.
So cheesy, but I've re-read The Thorn Birds more times than I can ever count. I love that book!!

I don't usually re read books because I want to read something I've never read before but 11/22/63 is definitely one I want to re read. It was so good!

Didn't know there was a mini series! Will have to look that up!

I'm currently rereading Harry Potter for the fourth time I think? Also the Tomorrow When The War Began series is so good and rereading worthy. Same for the Earth Children series of Jean M. Auel. And when I was a kid, I lent Thursday's Children (by Rumer Godden) over and over from the library until at one day when I was I high school I just decided to buy it.
