Occupations

If it makes you feel any better Eryn, I would be perfectly happy to stay home and scrap! :giggle

HA.
all i've ever been is a SAHM.
during college i was a prek teacher and worked evenings at a photography studio.
i never finished college as i got married a month after turning 20
and had my first child a year later.
life has been awesome though.
and now i design and teach tumbling (a music and movement class) to 2-5 year olds
2 mornings a week, and make as much as i would working part time.
so i'm happy, kids are happy, but mostly hubby is happy i can make the car payment
and furnish our new home..
ROFL!

I sometimes miss those days - people listened to me, I got to talk to adults all day, I bought whatever I wanted, I had a maid, I took private ballroom dance lessons a couple times per week, had vacations, nice clothes, I wore jewelery and perfume, I got to sleep in on weekends .... the tradeoff is worth it ... right? :think :giggle

Um, yeah, this was me, too! I must say I definitely don't miss wearing suits and pumps everyday.

I am a SAHM now, but used to be a business and systems analyst, specializing in the implementation of large company wide ERP systems. I worked for a large consulting firm after graduating from college. Then after getting married and tiring of all the travel that went along with consulting, I joined a dotcom which focused on internet education, providing online MBA courses from Ivy league schools to large corporate business employees.

I've been home for almost seven years now. The past seems like a whole other world.

I have enjoyed reading all the answers here - just another little glimpse into the lives of my online friends!

I work three days a week as an office manager. I work for a business lease finance company. I basically work up the paper work for signings, do all the office accounting/quickbooks, and run the whole office (which is really just me and the two bosses!) I love it! I also am a cosmetologist by trade and I do friends and family here at home!

I have my will to live sucked out of me, in small excruciating amounts. That's what I do for a living.

Oh, and I'm a digital designer at CatScrap. That part is rewarding for me, though.

For 10 years, I had my own business in internet marketing and consulting. I "retired" when I got pregnant with my youngest. I love being a SAHM although I find that watching Max & Ruby isn't nearly as intellectually stimulating as writing a marketing plan was. :think

It's really interesting reading about everyone's lives outside of scrapping. LOL @ Peppermint. I have days where I feel just like that!

I'm an IT Project Manager for a Fortune 500 Oilfield Services Company (no...not Haliburton!). I am responsible for the Management Reporting software our company uses. I've been doing that for 4 years. Before that I was a business systems analyst for 10 years on the Financial side of our ERP system. I have a BS in Business Finance and a minor in Economics and worked for 10 years as an accountant and a financial analyst, so that's why I've gravitated to the Financial side of the house.

I'm seriously blown away by everyone! My job seems so uninteresting now! (although lately I've felt like I have Peppermint's job)

I'm sorry. Not only has my will to live been sucked out of me, but my independent thought process and decision-making abilities as well. I'd really be no good to anyone.

I taught 7-8 grade special education before quitting to be a SAHM. =)

I'm a SAHM and a digi designer! :giggle Occasionally I do other bits and pieces of design work too, but at the moment I really prefer just working for myself. I used to be the office manager for a photographic press agency: printing photos, arguing with newspapers editors and generally bossing people about. Sometimes people even did what I told them, oh those were the days...

LOL! Actually, I've learned a good amount of spanish from watching Dora and Diego! Hahahaha

Loved reading all your stories!
After being a SAHM for 4 years, I'm going back working 1,5 days/week at our local pharmacy. Starting next month. Our youngest is almost going to school, so I've got some "extra time" on my hands now. The $$$ are always nice for some extra :shopping....

Ya'll are so interesting...my life seems kinda boring lol.

I worked at a bank for 5 years (ending as a vault teller), then for Prometric Testing as a test admin. for almost a year before we moved to Germany. When we got to Germany I was 25 weeks pregnant with Seth and then he was born about a month later. Him being so small there was no way I was going back to work so I became a SAHM. I had thought about getting a job once we were back stateside, but then Maddie was born right before we moved back, so I am still a SAHM (and digi designer)....oh and a full time student. I am getting my Bachelor's in Interior Design :)

You guys are wonderful! I love reading all these....

I'm a technology specialist for our local school district. Basically, if it plugs into electricity.....they think I can fix it! LOL Really though, I do everything that has to do with technology in the classroom and network....even webmaster for the district. I absolutely love my job and so glad that I left the business world 10 years ago. At the time, my sons were in high school so it worked out for me that I could enjoy and see them everyday at school before they graduated. They loved it too. Now that they're grown and having children of their own, I am still so fortunate to now see my oldest grandson all the time. He's in pre-school so its going to be so much fun seeing him grow through the years.

And....I'm in my final semester of college. Finally getting my Bachelor's degree in Technology.
