Anyone else have the holidays sneak up on them too fast and just not ready? I still haven't gotten. Gifts for half the people on my list..nor know what I even want myself... let alone to get others
Did I mention I am dead broke and out of work and in the middle of a court battle fighting my old job. Yeah that too.. sigh.. I know the holidays isn't all about gifts..but still I feel so bad ...

I'm right there with you, Kari! Between my mom being sick and doing a lot of running around for her, and my new granddaughter being born 3 1/2 weeks early, I have had no time at all. I did go to Kroger yesterday and buy a bunch of gift cards. That may be what Christmas is all about this year lol. I had this conversation with my mom last week...she is feeling super bad because she always goes all out for Christmas and just doesn't have it in her to do this year. I told her that Christmas is going to come whether we're ready or not, and sometimes you just have to chalk it up to being one of those years. We're all still here and able to be together, so we'll celebrate that.

We aren’t doing presents for everyone so I’m off the hook for running around. I hope you can get everything done without pulling your hair out!

All ready here since the day is just a normal day for me. I do have food for a nice dinner for myself already. And, from looking at next weekend's weather forecast, staying home is just where I want to be. 5 degrees is way too cold for me to go outside.

I already got my own gift... 2 24" monitors and they were set up on Wednesday. No other gifts to buy.

I can’t believe how fast December has flown by so I’m with you Kari! Good luck with all that!

It's definitely a challenge every year to get it all done. I have to start early since we always travel for Christmas and even then, I'm always down to the wire. DH, of course, thinks it's perfectly normal to be out shopping on Dec. 24!

I’m not ready yet at all nor am I terribly invested in Christmas, it’s been that way for 3 or 4 years now for various reasons.

Well, I don't buy gifts, but I'm preparing Christmas food. Or rather, I should be. But I'm sick and on antibiotics. Soooo tired. I hope I'll be better soon, cuz I really want a proper Christmas dinner!

We don't exchange gifts.. I did get a few GC's for those we needed to get for. We have a nice dinner just the 2 of us and just spend time together. That is all I ever want anyway :) Merry Christmas everyone!

I crocheted some gifts for very near people throughout the year, so that's done, but for the rest I just sent Christmas cards and that's all. Once I didn't know what to do, because I didn't have gifts, so I gave them Christmas cards with a coupon, saying, good for a future gift, so I had time on the following months to buy something, maybe that would works for you too.

I just bought for a few people, so was able to finish up the shopping last month. I am going to make rice krispie squares and some cookies but will wait til the end of the week to do that. All I need to do is wrap which I will probably do on Tues or Wed. We didn't want to make it a big thing this year.

I'm slowly on my way... lol! And it's this weekend. eeek!

I've got some gift done. Need to go to the dollar store for candy stocking stuffers. Then I may start wrapping tonight. I have to prepare food next for the weekend.

I hope everyone can get all the "to-do's" done without too much stress. I'm pretty close to ready, but that's mostly because we don't have a ton of people that we buy gifts for anymore. It's mostly my kid's, my nephews and our parents. I did keep up with wrapping the gifts as I got them this year, so that's definitely nice to not have that hanging over my head.

Sorry it's such a tough time for you right now Kari! Hope the day itself ends up surprising you and is relaxing and fun :heartlub

We are having a strange one this year, as we are not travelling to family that live several hours away as we usually do, but instead celebrating at home with the girls coming over to our place. And our place is going to be full of boxes and the smell of wet paint as I am painting it on the 23rd and we move on the 27th ...

:funfun

We are cutting back on presents though so it was easier on that front.

It did sneak up super fast this year for some reason! We had a water leak in our house in November & it's just now getting repaired- so on top of the normal crazy, we have had contractors here doing drywall last week, now carpet removal today & I have to paint this week so we are ready for new carpet the week after Christmas. Ugh. I am mostly ready- but only because we do Christmas with my family the weekend before- so I have to be ready even earlier! This next week I'm just planning on doing some baking & just a few last minute stocking stuffer type of things.

December has been all out of sorts for me. I got sick right after Thanksgiving, and I was out of commission for two full weeks before I was able to do anything. So then I spent the entire time trying to catch up on things at work and the basics at home, like having groceries. I lost two weeks that I could have been making progress on Christmas. Oh well. I do feel like I am finally pretty much ready, but it definitely came up on me faster than i expected!

We only buy gifts for our two daughters and we were early this year so we have everything in my house, just have to be creative with my christmas-packingpaer. We are spending this time just with the 4 of us and just send christmas cards to my close friends and family. It's also my husbands birthday tomorrow so his parents come here for a visit. Take care and good luck with everything Kari.
