Honestly- I am the one that seems to keep everyone informed of the big things, babies/funerals/holiday gatherings. I'm not sure that makes me nosey- it's just I'm a planny plannerson & most my family besides my mom is happy to let me take those reins!

Interesting question.
My Mom was always nosy, but since she passed away 6 years ago, no one in the family chats anymore. My family are still hiding out from covid. So haven't seen them, even though they're local, for 3 years. Hubby's side of the family seems to have grown more distant since the children are all adults. The parents don't speak out of the house. I think that can be wrong too sometimes, when someone is ill and in hospital - I think the family should know.
I agree, when family is ill people should know
