New Clothes | Pad Patter 4.4.2017

well this has been educational - damn psychological games - that shouldn't come into it - there is something to be said for the futuristic stereotype of everyone wearing the same jumpsuit/uniform (think star trek sorta thing) and not having to deal with fashion etc - shopping for clothes is not fun (not even for the kids anymore, at least when they were little they would wear whatever colour, print, etc)

Shopping for clothes isn't really fun for me, but there are a few things that I like and don't mind going out to find.

My latest obsession is popping into Marshalls and TJ Maxx to look for Life Is Good t-shirts. They are my faves, and I practically live in them! I like St. John's Bay plaid shirts (such pretty, bright colors!) and A.n.a t-shirts from J.C. Penney. I get most of my workout clothes from Sam's Club of all places, and I also bought several pairs of shorts there last year because I actually found some I liked!

Pants are the most difficult. I have to be emotionally prepared to try pants on at the store, because they are apparently NOT made for athletic girls (I have a boo-tay that comes from doing martial arts and squats- lots of squats) any more, and that trend has only gotten worse since skinny jeans pants came back in style. I am ready for skinny pants to die, thankyouverymuch. And I know it's not me, because my pants from 10 years ago still fit! Sizes just went nuts when skinny hit the scene again.

I like Lane Bryant, Beall's, TJMaxx, and Goodwill . . . usually everything I buy has to be on clearance and with a coupon if I'm in a "regular" store. I also get a lot of clothes from my niece. She loves to shop and when she cleans out her closet, I get first dibs. LOL A lot of stuff I don't take because she is younger than me and doesn't fit my personality, but I've gotten many, many outfits that have kept me from spending loads of money.

I love Maurice's for their camis . . . they are actually LONG enough to fit me! Nothing worse than raising your hands to show off your belly!

And don't get me started about sizes. I used to stress over it, and now I just buy what's comfortable and looks at least semi-flattering. What that means is I wear a lot of black. LOL
