I'm stuck. I need to catch up on my PL and I have been taking *some* photos for WITL, but I don't think I planned it out enough in advance and I'm just struggling. I have no motivation right now, even though I desperately want to get something in the books! I have no space for crafting in this house. My tiny table is overcrowded with supplies, so I can't see anything I have and digging through it all leaves me feeling overwhelmed and by the time I get to the bottom of the pile, I've forgotten what's on the top! Arrrr. We're moving soon and I will have a large sun room right off of my bedroom which will be my craft room! Yay for space and being able to finally organize! BUT, for now, I need to get to work, and y'all I just can't for the life of me. I'll start to put something together and it just looks like poo to me! Even though I browse the store and see so much gorgeous inspiration, I just can't make anything work for me! How do you over come slumps? Where do you work when you have no room to work? I need some inspiration and motivation!

Well, since I'm digi scrapping, as long as I have my keyboard, computer and monitor, I'm rocking and rolling. My desk can be a hot mess (but let's be honest, my desk is rarely a hot mess - that would drive me crazy) and I can still scrapbook.

For me, I would have to clean up a reasonable area before I could begin to scrap because I would be too distracted by the mess to continue scrapping. LOL So maybe making a small area available could begin to help you?

I know when I'm in a slump with digital scrapbooking, I will watch process videos on YouTube or look through the gallery. I try to limit that time, and then just start scrapping. I keep pressing through, making more pages . . . it's like riding a bike . . . the muscles have to remember what they are supposed to . . . so the more you scrap, the easier and faster it becomes and your muscles remember what they are supposed to do. LOL

Good luck! I say, just dive in . . . not everything needs to be a masterpiece. Did you include a photo? Did you include a date and identifying information? Did you tell a story, even if it's only one sentence? Well, then, page done. Masterpieces belong in museums, not in my house where my family look at the pages.

Could you do a basic layout with PL doing a little journaling (even if it's a bullet list on a card you'll replace later) and then come back and fancy it up later? Sometimes I can do that and others it drives me crazy that it's not finished. I have a laptop so I can work where there is a space to sit, so I'm no help there.
Otherwise I would just try to keep the notes on what you want to include.
It sounds like you are doing hybrid? I haven't too successful at that. Maybe as you go through things take notes on how you want to organize and store things in the new room. Good luck.

I start by making a list, then crossing things off a list. Lol
As digital oriented as I am, my to-do list has to be paper!!! I'm weird, I know.

If I'm stressing, then my pages don't come together very well. This month is a struggle for me, as DH is still on strike. My only suggestion is to give yourself a break, and allow the stress to pass. Creating is a fun endeavor and you enjoy it. When you stress about it, it's not fun. Maybe clean up the area, make a little nook for yourself, even in the most odd spot, and organize yourself. You can do WITL any week. Maybe try playing an app for awhile, and a mandatory night off. Hugs... it's hard. I know! :therethere

I was going to say to scroll through some paper PL pages to get inspired, but since you already create amazing hybrid pages, I dunno. Maybe look through the galleries of some of your favorite PL scrappers? Do something completely different and/or backward? try to use a template like Jaimee's ready-to-go pages (or just a regular storyteller template from one of the months) and put your own spin?

I'm admitting that I'm selfishly hoping you get out of your slump so I can see more of your gorgeous pages. :)

I'm really no help as I'm almost 100% digi.... what little hybrid I do, I do on my coffee table while watching tv (supplies in a decorative box on the shelf under the table).

I was looking at your gorgeous PL layouts and the only idea that struck me was... have you tried using the Collect App to label your photos? The look of your photos with the white space and journaling reminded me of the Collect photos. I love the look of your writing, but doing it in Collect could be a way to streamline your process for the time being. Just an idea.

Carilyne, I like this idea...just get photos and cards in the album with a bit of journaling and then go back later and make it pretty, add more journaling as it comes to me...this could be a great start...I'm going to try to get one done this way today!

I HAVE to have stuff on paper. I can't function with google calendars on my phone, lists on my computer...I love the digital age because of scrapping, but other than that I think I'd be happier without a computer! lol. I'm not the best list maker though...so...a bulleted list of prioritized projects that *need* to be done and then ones I *want* to get done, would help tremendously. I'm feeling overwhelmed by the catching up I now need to do, so I think once I see it on paper, it won't be as intimidating as I'm thinking it will be.

I'm on Thursday (today) snapping pics like crazy, and yesterday this THREAD, help get me inspired to get 9 pages done for MONDAY(I haven't even got to dinner yet) lol...I know that each day will be a bit less, but it feels good to start!

You are so sweet!! Thank you! And I'm just going to give myself a deadline of having something finished by Sunday, so be on the lookout! ;)

@tradtke I have it on my phone, but never use it! lol. Maybe I'll give it a go and see if that helps speed up the process!

@AnneofAlamo 9 pages for one day?! WOW!! You are a woman on a mission! Looking forward to seeing them! I think it may be in my best interest to just start catching up on regular PL right now and keep WITL for another month. Maybe once I'm caught up I'll do a week over the summer and then another in the fall when we're back in school...that's half of my problem right now...finding time at the end of the school year. You homeschool too, right? How do you fit in your scrapping time? Right now with school, soccer, dance and all of the crazy end of year stuff, I have little time left for anything other than cooking, cleaning and sleeping!

I've been using Collect. It's nice because it has the reminders. So when I get the alert I either take a photo, or use one I've snapped during the day and just jot down a few thoughts in the notes. It's made it so that I am actually working on memory keeping regularly again.

I do indeed homeschool...I live my life in chunks!
I scrap at recess while the floors are drying...or during tests! lol and the afternoons, we have a program big brainz (a math adventure game) for 30 minutes, and I give one hour screen time on Kindle if they have good attitude in school.
we are uber organized...lol the boys have a task list for school, and although I help them, they have to get the books and go to the place for the day. Everyone has chores and they WILL get done or I GET UGLEEEEEEEEEEEE! Them doing their part is the grease to make a good day!
Sometimes my girls need a ride to work, sometimes they ride their bikes. I do pick them up in the late afternoon! My 17 and 3/4s and 11 year old boys are both in public school (11 year old comes home next year). The oldest takes the bus, and my elementary son rides bike to and from school.
We also live right on the outskirts of the desert...so the boys can spend HOURS out there exploring. Tuesday, we all woke up tired and kinda cranky, cause we had people over for dinner LATE! I made a proclamation; Magic School Bus! Bless YOUTUBE, 5 hours all 13 episodes from first season. I piddled around the house, and then scrapped and did the end of Lily pad adventure (the grand finale of BART). I was on scrapping FIRE that day! lol...
We went outside all of us and just enjoyed the day.
Then back to the grind on Tuesday! I do scrap in the evenings too!

@mommy2boyz Be kind to yourself! Preparing for a move with all the other things in your life is not the easiest time to live. I ditto put WITL on the back burner and maybe prep a plan for it when you are in your new location and you'll have all new things/places to include. Maybe just write out the questions you'll want to answer via photos and words. I wish I had this kind of memory for all the places I've lived - she said wistfully.

Your pages are so clean and sparkly, you'll get your groove back! Baby steps...and a bit is better than nothing!

@AnneofAlamo i love the Magic School Bus (or any educational program) for days like that! My boys love MSB!! We've been having more days like that here lately than I care to admit...end of the year is always so hard. Our motivation for many things is lacking and we're all just exhausted at this point!

to hijack your thread...ya know...it is beautiful outside...and they have worked hard all year...and really?? tomorrow is Friday and you can call it AnneofAlamo day and just vegged (boys) and mom scrap? lol
we have no school tomorrow! Public school is out and we deemed it important to sleep in.

@AnneofAlamo I like you and your way of thinking more and more! lol. Brady is doing end of year testing, and tomorrow we just have one section to finish up, but after that, I think a neighborhood walk and the new shave ice stand around the corner are in order! We'll get an early start to our weekend!
