Need help with fonts!

I have 1029 fonts but they are not installed. On my Mac, they're all connected to FontBook. eta: I just went though all up to E and made more categories and deleted enough to get down to 984! I see that I have a lot of what I call Traditional but one day...maybe... I'll go through and make them either Serif or NonSerif. I have a great many of the latter as they are so much easier to read with journaling. Legible trumps cute with me!

This is going to take a while since I have over 800 fonts installed. Any tips on organizing? Do I want to move them into sets and then uninstall? Do I leave the font file where it is, or move into a Nexus backup folder and then delete?
So what I did was copy all the fonts - system included, just in case! to a folder I named "Nexus Fonts". Then I went back to the windows folder and deleted them. I mostly stuck to the ones I knew were not system or program fonts (any that started with KG, CK, BMD, Pea, etc. Now the caveat: Doing it this way won't erase system fonts. It might erase program fonts! Hence why I stuck to ones I knew weren't system.

Then I organized in NexusFont. At that point, I could delete any I didn't want (system fonts) because I was deleting them from the folder, not the system.

I hope that makes sense!
