need gift suggestions

    My husband's collegue has invited us to his mother's 85th birthday. They are Chinese, and we don't know them that well, but they have invited a lot of people. What should I get as a gift for her? I am at a loss :whistle

    Oh....that's a toughie....maybe a gift card to somewhere common? Like Target or someplace else like that that a lot of people go to?

    I was thinking flowers too, but the Chinese are very supersticious and giving something that will die to and old person is aparently a no-no. So we went with two lovely potted plants in nice pots.
