Hello and welcome to the first NBK Design challenge of 2019. I thought that I would keep this challenge fairly simple after all the buzz and excitment of MOC. What I would like you to do is change the look of your photo or your layout by adding a paper then changing the blending mode. Sometimes you need to unify the elements a little better on your page, or perhaps you would like to add more texture to your layout or change the overall color cast to your photo or page.

Your challenge is to add a paper to your photo or layout and change the blend mode of the paper to achieve a different look to your page. If you would like to take this a step further, you can add a white layer to the top of your layout, then add one of NBK Designs styles to that layer. Simplify the layer, then change the blend mode. The possibilities are endless with this simple technique. Don't forget, that you can always mask out any areas where you don't want your effect to show.

PLEASE POST BOTH VERSIONS OF YOUR PHOTO OR LAYOUT.

Here is my layout before I added the overlays.

Here is my layout after I added two additional layers using styles.

@janedee This looks like a fun challenge! I haven't completed any layouts using NBK's designs, yet! I'm not sure if I understand this? Do I choose any layout, and re-do it using NBK's designs?

@gduncan - You can redo a page or create a new page using any NBK Designs supplies, then show me a different look for the page, achieved using the methods shown above. The idea is to stretch your supplies when one particular aspect of the paper doesn't quite work for you. I just need to see both versions of the page using the NBK Designs supplies. In my sample, I wanted to emphasize the outdoors more but still keep some of the pink that was already on the paper.

Oh, great! Thank you for the clarification! I do that a lot with papers, so this should be fun! I'll see what I can come up with.

And here it is with THREE papers and some paint added to it. And I really like both, so can't say which is more pleasing to my eye.

    Here's the original layout

Here's the second using a blue paper to change the black in background paper (light blending) and then another paper to further grunge up the background and add more red splotches (dark blending)

Thank you for this challenge. I don't play with blending mode much, and this was fun. It's the first time I've blended a paper to a completed layout. I got some really wacky results trying out every blending mode in my software.
    This is my before
    [IMG]
and this one is my favourite after - using Saturation.

And here is my remake, using nbk-Imagine-PP-Solid7 (blending mode hue); then duplicated and clipped onto the OOTB (blending mode color burn) ILoveParis_WE14_19.jpg

That's one of my favorite things about using blend modes with paper - the crazy, unexpected changes to the page.

    I loved this, thank you!
The base paper is a paper from Art Crush No 2
Over that is another paper from Art Crush No 2, on Color blending mode
Then on top of that a paper from Art Crush No 6, because I loved the pink flowers in the corner, blending mode changed to darken
