Northern Virginia here ... over the years there have been a few blizzards, hurricanes, tornadoes, and a 5.8 earthquake that damaged the Washington Monument and the National Cathedral in D.C. (August 2011). That earthquake originated about 80 miles southwest of us.
I was at the office and the floor of our office rolled under my feet ... it was like riding a wave. Luckily we didn't sustain any damage.
Fortunately, we are pretty protected from a lot of things here in the mountains. The worst we've had it is a blizzard or two when we were stuck for a week or so, but we had food and heat...all good. Some areas around us get some flooding from time to time, but my house is on top of a hill on top of a mountain lol. We've also had a a few tiny little earthquakes that just shake a bit and a we lost a few trees during a Derecho several years ago.
Yes. We lived on the Gulf Coast for Hurricanes Ivan, Katrina, and Dennis. Handful of tropical storms while there as well, but nothing to write home about. And then felt the impacts of a couple (small) earthquakes and haboobs when we lived in AZ. And fortunate to be near but not devastated by the impacts of Hurricane Harvey when we lived in TX.
