Our rink's annual Ice Show was this weekend, and my daughter was lucky enough to earn a solo! I'm going to be a proud mama and post a link to a video of her skate. (Sorry for the bad quality, but I took it on my phone in low light.) I'm so proud of her!

wOw Jan!!!!!! Congrats!!!!!!!!! She is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! I had my fair share of figure sating show as Sarita skated until she was 14.... and I think Charlotte is first class!!!!!! the work with the prop is fabulous, her whole thing is amazing!!!!!!! and she is also amazingly beautiful!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats, I can imagine how full of joy your heart is!!!!!!:heartlub:heartlub:heartlub:heartlub:heartlub

Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments. You are all correct - I'm so proud of her! She works so hard at it, but loves every minute that she's on the ice. This was the first time that she was able to get a solo part, and she did us proud!

You have every right to be proud! wow...I first got a slide show of skaters when I clicked so I'm so glad i tried again. What struck me in addition to her skill is that she was smiling the entire time! Yes!

I skated when i was 3-5 but not after we moved south from PA-MD way back when. I've never skated since but I recall the exhilaration of the flying across the ice!

This costume I didn't make - thankfully! It was nice to have one purchased and given to us as part of the registration fees. Our skating director gets dance costumes because they're less expensive. If you put "skating" in front of the word "costume", the prices increase astronomically! The skirt was floor length, but one of her coaches (who is also a dance coach) helped me drape and pin it up so it looks as it does now.

All that hard work she (and you) put in - she was beautiful out there!
