So glad you were able to get it fixed!! I was stressed reading your comments hoping it was an easy fix!! And look at you--you did it all by yourself!!! I'm really proud of you for fixing your own computer and that's working so you can scrap the rest of the MOC!! <3

That's too funny!! I got myself a 5TB internal hard drive for Christmas. I had the darndest time getting that hard drive to work! I called my dad and my dad was like "did you plug it in?" Of course I did, I knew I did. But when I went to look, my 3-year old had unplugged them because he was worried I left them plugged in unattended!! :D
 
@rdjrneace - I'm still in the process of trying to sort through all this, but yes, it does seem to work with PSCC. Once you set up your font folders in Nexus, PSCC will read those
 
@Neverland Scraps - That is just hilarious! Maybe that was our problem....we needed a 3 year old to hook it up for us LOL. You have no idea how frustrated I was that I had to wait five days to started on the setup b/c of a silly error LOL.
 
@rdjrneace I selected and copied all my fonts off windows to move over to an EHD to direct nexusfont. Then I selected and deleted all fonts off windows as I knew that it would prompt me and not all me to delete the system fonts. But just in case, I had all fonts copied by this point to an EHD so I knew it would be ok if somehow all got deleted and I had to reinstall. It all worked out fine though.

Ugh. It's so frustrating isn't it? I hope you don't have to re-do too much to get your layout back.

It kind of is fun to have a fresh clean slate for a change! But I hope that I don't have to do it again anytime soon. :giggle

@Karen Yes, I'm thinking the same thing. Although it' fun....I don't want to do it again for a loooong time. I'm really taking my time with organizing and loading, as I want to do a better job this time of building folders and creating subfolders for photos. So much work!
 
I really need to re-organize my photos but not sure how to do that any not mess up my lightroom collection. I cannot find photos and feel like I spend hours searching for things.

No idea! I know I used to (Back in 2005 or 2006!) be able to google and find what fonts were system fonts. I don't know if that still works. I do know that you want to be careful uninstalling fonts that programs use, or they may load funny. I am like @bcgal00 and recommend having a backup in case it's wrong. I do know that some are easy to identify - like the KG or DJB prefixes.

Yes! It works fine on my Windows 10 computer with CC. It also worked with PSE 11, and 13. And works with Microsoft Word/Excel.

I recommend 1 of two ways. Either delete your catalog and restart from the beginning. Or just make sure you only move folders/photos inside lightroom. Do you know how you want to organize your photos? I have to say last year, at least the first 6 months, I focused on 15 minutes/day and it's so much easier to find all the organized years! Now to start again, so I can finish this year organized!

I have to admit I was rather proud that I was able to figure it out. My husband was too! Usually I just make noise until he fixes things for me, but he wasn't around so... I had to! :) And yes! It's working like a dream, so I'm thrilled!

So I ordered a new HD and that arrives today. I'm going to have hubby install that and then reinstall my OS from scratch and hopefully that'll fix it all. Wish me luck!

@Karen - can I ask what kind of HP you purchased? My computer is dying a slow death I'm afraid - it is super slow and freezes up and and won't always "wake up" after it's been idle. I was looking @ a Dell XPS last night - but I hate to spend the $ since mine is still kicking - but then again - I don't want it to completely poop on me either!

I bought a new Solid State hard drive. I had already had a solid state drive (SSD) but when I bought it 4 years ago, it was too small and I should have just gotten a bigger one then. Here's what I bought:

SSDs are SOOOOOO much faster than regular HDs and they don't have moving parts, so in theory they should last lots longer too!
