Music |Pad Patter 1.9

I took piano for many years starting at age five. I quit and my mom told me at the time "you will regret it". She was right (of course), I do. I hardly remember anything. I also tried the cello in 6th grade. The only music that stuck was singing. I was in choir through high school. :beat

I played clarinet in middle school band. I started piano lessons while living in South Korea. I didn’t know a lot of Korean and she didn’t know a lot of English but we made it work. After moving back to the states I continued lessons here but had to relearn a bit. My Korean teacher taught me Do Re Mi vs. ABC. I can play some now but not like I’d like to.

I was in the school choir but that was it. I did also do 2 years of drama after school. I really wish I learnt a skill in the performing arts and kept up with it as I love watching singing and dancing reality shows.

I took piano lessons pretty much from 2nd grade through college. I love the piano! It's the only musical instrument I learned how to play...although I did try teaching myself guitar...it hurt my fingers. I gave up pretty quickly. My oldest daughter have worked on a couple of duets this past year & it's been so fun! I actually get jealous of all her practice time.

My 2 oldest girls take private lessons now. I taught them until they outgrew me.
My oldest teaches 3 of her siblings.
One of my children started the violin about 6 months ago and is really picking it up.
The other older girls have also learned how to play guitar, bass, ukulele....Their dad has helped them but they've taught themselves quite a bit too.

Needless to say we are a very musical family. We love music. I love hearing them play (although the violin was painful at first!).

When I saw the Music topic I knew I would have to read the thread.
