That darn Murphy got me good this week! It's been a crazy one, but Thursday was the kicker!

I had an 8am IEP meeting scheduled with parents and a bunch of team members, so I needed to leave my house a little early. I got out by 6:55...go me! We had gotten a little snow over night, but I got out of my subdivision fairly easily and it's usually the worst part. Well, when I turned on to another road...traffic dead stopped...nowhere to turn around and really no other way out. It was pretty icy and I figure someone wrecked over the hill in the curves ahead of me. Driving on snow and ice in the mountains is no joke. After sitting there for about 10 minutes, I texted a co-worker who was supposed to be at my meeting and told her what was going on and she agreed to start the meeting for me.

Then, my gas light came on.... Then, I remembered that Chance was supposed to turn in a deposit for his school trip and I had no checks in my purse (cue frantic note writing).

We sat there for 35 minutes! And then spent another 5 minutes sliding our way off that road! I count my blessings and head for the nearest gas station. First pump I pull up to is not taking cards, so I get back in the car, drive to another one, and have to swipe my card 8000 times (slight exaggeration) to get it to work.

Made it to my meeting 20 min late. THEN, after school, Chance doesn't show up like he's supposed to (he rides the bus from his school to mine). I text him, no answer. I call the school...ohhh the bus didn't have a driver, they're just now leaving. Another 20 min late getting to leave work.

Congrats if you made it to the end of that story LOL How about you? Has Murphy made any appearances in your life lately?

No, fortunately, at least not lately. I hope you got the chance to sit back and relax after that frustrating day. I think I would have wanted a large glass of wine after all that.

I made it to the end. :driving:hairpol

Glad you didn't run out of gas! Ole Murph is always just lingering around the corner. I know he's gotten me, but nothing's coming to mind right now. Good ole guy!

Oh that was my day on Thursday. I somehow always end up in bad traffic situations when I allow myself to go to work later then normal. Because I had my first two classes off, I left home about 20 later. Because why not? So I try to insert into the highway and we're already standing still there. So I sigh "you know this would happen, you know...". During the 35 minute trip that normally doesn't have anything happen, I saw 3 accidents (small, nothing serious). And that was just the beginning of the day. Oh well.:huh
I guess it's Sunday night now and I should just go to bed and forget about all this because I have to start bright and early tomorrow. And of course we have parent-teacher meetings tomorrow and Tuesday night. Plus two team meetings instead of 1. Let this awesome week begin. hmph

I was wanting one about 9am :wine:giggle But I waited until evening :)

I think the gas thing was bothering me more than anything. One of these days I'll learn to fill up before I go home and not wait til the last minute LOL

I feel you!! It's IEP time of the year for me and everything is starting to get really crazy with meetings and schedules. We are supposed to get snow tonight, so I'm kind of doing a little snow dance in my chair and hoping for a day off tomorrow. I could use it after last week. Of course, I'll probably spend it catching up on work stuff.

I just posted a Hybrid Horror story here - i think it fits a bit under Murphy's Law - if something can go wrong here when i get out craft supplies, it will usually go wrong

(Glad you survived your Thursday - I dont know how anyone drives in snow and icy conditions - they're like 90% of the worlds worst driver type videos we see here!)

Far out that is what horror stories are made of, ever seen the movie Falling Down starring Michael Douglas, your story kind of reminded me of it in an obscure kind of way! Glad it kinda all worked out in the end though :)

Just read your story. I'm the same which is why I stick to digi 98% of the time :)
And yeah, this is why I hate the snow. If I could stay home and just look at how pretty it is, I might feel different, but when I have to go up and down hills and around curves at the same time, ugh!

I love that movie!!
Yep, I did count my blessings and focus on the positive things, even though I grumbled a little :)

I am a strong believer in Murphy's Law. I think nowadays, I always take it into account. Not that being aware ever helps, but I acknowledge it! :giggle

Hoping the weekend was Murphy Law free, especially after that Thursday! Or a Murphy's Law Margarita was involved!

Oooh, I want one! "Murphy's Law Coffee" doesn't have the same ring to it lol!

I've noticed that if I make plans to see friends during the day, the kids get a snow day or our power goes out/the roads close/a kid or I gets sick. I either need to start making MORE plans during school days just to stop this "trend" or I need to never leave my house for "fun" stuff while the kids are in school, lol!

Many years ago I had a Murphy's Laws poster at work. Our office moved locations and in the process, the movers lost my poster. A fitting occurrence...

They also lost the poster of my favorite artwork of Salvador Dali, Dream, as they were in the same tube. Bummer.

Lol. The only "Murphy's Law" thing to happen this weekend was yesterday. We were all outside playing- I was cleaning up flower beds & ripping out the ugly bushes I hate. My daughter REALLY wanted the basketball hoop pulled out from the garage but my husband usually does it. He was gone getting his haircut. I kept telling her to wait until Daddy got home, but she was driving me crazy. I was able to muscle it out- but then she wanted it raised to 10 ft. Me- being the independent strong woman- said "Sure, let me get the ladder." As soon as I was on the top of the ladder trying to get a super heavy hoop up so I could tighten the adjusting knob- the hubby pulled in the driveway. My daughter then replies- "I knew as soon as you did it, that's when Daddy would get home!" Brat! lol! ;) Thankfully he was home in time to help me get it all adjusted, that's a 2 person job! lol!
