The other day my husband and I were watching something random on youtube, and it got me thinking about how back in the nineties movies that came out were also known for their soundtracks. That really isnt the case anymore is it? And I 'm not talking about musicals like Wicked or West Side Story. I'm talking about those big summer blockbuster (which I guess they don't really have any more either because of streaming) like Top Gun or Footloose or Dirty Dancing. Is there a movie soundtrack that is your favorite? I think one of my faves is the Bodyguard. I love every single song from that movie.

The 1970's was full of great soundtracks. Star Wars (1977), Saturday Night Fever, Grease to name a few. But my favorite from the 1970's was A Star Was Born (Streisand, Kristofferson). Saturday Night Fever is my 2nd fav from that era.

In the 1980's Top Gun is my favorite. I also like Dirty Dancing and The Big Chill soundtracks. Another movie with some cool songs on the soundtrack is Cocktail.

Even after looking up 1990's soundtracks, I can say that I don't recognize any of the movies. Guess the few movies I went to back then didn't have memorable soundtracks.

From the 80s, it is so hard cause there were so many good ones. Of movies not mentioned yet, I'm gonna say Grease 2. I loved that soundtrack.

From the 90s, I'd have to go with either Pure Country (cause my love for George Strait is real) or 8 Seconds.

    From the 2000s, Tokyo Drift.

From the 2010s, Guardians of the Galaxy.

I don't know if they have a soundtrack, but the AppleTV show Ted Lasso plays some awesome current and classic tunes. I was thinking of making my own playlist from it!

My favorites are probably Hairspray, The Commitments, Platoon and anything by John Williams. My daughter would say Wicked.

There are so many great ones! One of my favs from back in the 80's was The Big Chill. I also loved the soundtracks from Purple Rain, Less than Zero, and Good Morning, Vietnam.

I haven’t listened to many that aren’t musicals. Greatest Showman is my go-to musical soundtrack.
