I saw a mouse in my kitchen this morning! this is from internet...I was too busy screaming and yelling to take of photo of the rude thing, that ran across my kitchen and opened the cabinet, looked back at me and disappeared! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh yes, everything in my kitchen is now in my dining room, on portable tables and I bleached top to bottom of my house. I have traps, sticky, baited ones and all set and ready for DEATH! DEATH! I live in the edge of town, a huge desert behind us. I hold snakes, scorpions, and spiders. I am petrified of mice! I mean, scream at the top my lungs, scrub the house from top to bottom. I am getting new cabinet liners tomorrow, and will wash everything before it goes back in. I am living like a hoarder right now, because I will not put the stuff back until the cold. dead. body. appears. So? you? What happens when you see one?
Oh my! I have to say, mice don't bother me much. I don't necessarily like having them, but we do get them from time to time. They like to steal the dog and cat food. I have 2 cats who are really good mousers. They will usually catch them and bring them for me to see and give them praises. But then I usually have to catch them (cats) and throw them out the door with their new toy/prize in their mouths or they will play with them before the kill.
Ewwwww! Yes, if I saw a mouse, I would be freaking out. Unlike you, I would use paper products and plastic cups until the mouse was found, THEN I would unload everything and bleach it and replace the liners. And those GIFs are creepy. I'm freaking out. I detest FROGS. Ewwwwww
What???? Really???? You would kill MICKEY????? Come on!!!!! They don't bite!! They don't attack!! They don't do anything except steal pet food!!! They are cute furry little beings that are just hungry. Now, snakes, scorpions, spiders??? I would be on top of my roof screaming my lungs out!!!! No, I don't allow them to stay. I have a good mouser who also brings them to me for approval. Why do cats do that????? As soon as the cold weather starts to set in up here in Michigan, they all start packing their tiny little suitcases and move indoors. Sorry, I think you are cute and all------but not in my house!!!, I had a good laugh at Anne's reaction to mice. I was in bed reading one night and I saw a movement at the end of my bed. And there he/she was, sitting on the end of my bed just staring at me. As soon as I moved he/she took off, jumped off the bed and out the door. I think I got the cat the next day. Ohhhhh, Anne, I can see you now, looking up from your reading and seeing a mouse on your bed!!!! BBWWWWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
mice leave poop! like pounds of it! aaaaaaaaaagh! I am a germ a phobe! on my bed??????????????? @NancyP and I do not even like the mouse from Disney! totally creepy to me! I would be in hotel! and @gonewiththewind how can you hate frogs and be at the pad! psst..I love frogs and have them all over my office! tee hee
OK, guess I better 'splain myself before you all run in the other direction!! I HATE mouse poop!! I'm not a germaphobic but it really is disgusting! If I see even one on my counter or on a shelf, everything gets washed down with clorox !! I still think the mice are cute, but NOT THE POOP!!!!
Because a close family friend would chase me holding frogs . . . an irrational fear set in. I actually have a hear/see/speak no evil mini figurine that's very old and it's three frogs, but other than that, nope. No frogs. There are loads of other happy things in a lilypad besides frogs ~ thus I am quite happy here. I'll let the frogs hang out around your mini pad. LOL
Mice - shudder----- We haven't ever had a problem with them except once at our old house. They were coming up from the crawl space through the hole around the drain pipe for the kitchen sink. They stayed in the cupboard because the cat could not get them in there. Poison got them. In NC we have bugs, as in some big wood roaches that like to come in as well as other beetles, moths, mosquito hawks, ants, spiders, etc. I finally broke down and paid to have the house sprayed. The Green-Eyed Lady Princess of Darkness has gotten old, so it has been a long time since we have had to praise her for trophies. Thank goodness. Hopefully no more decapitated baby bunnies or bird parts on the front door mat.
@gonewiththewind - My dd hates frogs too. She yells "Trigger" if I even mention a frog. She said it is because they hop unexpectedly and have long tongues.
When I was little, I used to call them frops . . . frog + hop = frop. LOL Really, I'm not a fan of any reptiles, slimy skin beady eye things. I'm grateful for frogs for eating bugs and keeping down the mosquito population, but other than that, stay away.
That is funny. I don't mind most of them, but I really, really hate snakes and any lizard that slithers like a snake. Growing up, we used to pick up toads and try to make them race each other. I will still catch toads if needed. Not so sure I want to pick up a frog.
Seeing a mouse means getting out the glue traps for me. We had a problem years ago when we had guinea pigs. The mice would steal their food & bedding. We couldn't bait because of the piggies. We even borrowed my mom's cat, didn't work. A guy saw me in the aisle at Home Depot & said "Get the glue taps. The only thing that works". I never looked back.
EEK! We haven't had any mice in this house but in Houston, where we rented so we had to DIY since the landlord was horrible, we had one once. DH didn't believe me until he saw it with his own eyes. *sigh* Anyway, a glue trap caught him asap, so hopefully your little critter gets caught just as quickly! And I did what you did: clear out and disinfect! It just feels good, doesn't it?!
I feel for you Anne! I hate them but not scared of them. I grew up on a farm and one year we had a mouse plague. Every time you lifted up anything (on the farm - not inside) hundreds of mice would scatter in all directions. I will admit to being an awful child who killed every mouse who would come her way (I will not go into details and needless to say I could not deal with them that way today...) I even bought home handfuls of dead mice to show mum- yep totally gross. Our house was wooden so every night Mum would put out the mousetraps and they would be full the next day. These days between having a new house and a cat, I have only spotted one in the house, soon dispatched in a trap... Love frogs - best holiday place in Cambodia had green tree frogs living in our bathroom! Snakes and scorpions not so keen on but have huntsmen spiders everywhere so used to them now.
I don't like mice. We use the glue traps. But we usually don't have to. Because my dog is a mouse catcher. Yep. He catches them, and then wants to play with them. Or bring them to me and show me he caught one. Ugh.
We had a mouse one time. It was running along the wall and my husband picked up my shoe....MY SHOE!!!!.....and threw it at the poor little thing. Hit it and killed it. With MY SHOE!!!!! We Lysol-ed the shoe big time before I would wear it again.
your husband is my hero!!! toss those shoes and buy two more! lol oh my goodness! I am cheering him! go give him a big hug and kiss! woot to Jan's hubby and his aim!
