MOC - one week done!

So far so good! I started with MOCs here at MOC3. I've never not finished one. I was concerned this year because I've gone back to work part time for the first time in 13 years. But, so far, I've gotten 5 done. Given that I don't think I had any done by the end of two weeks last year and still finished, I'm hopeful that my head start will serve me well. However, tomorrow is back to work and school so we'll see how things go! I loved the generational challenge as it played right into the books I've been scrapping and I love those family connections!

I'm behind a little, but I should catch up in the next couple of days. I still have to finish filling my Day 3 template -- and I have Day 7 still to do. I guess in terms of struggling, it's all the flowers in the template, but I'll get there. And I've ended up spending time searching for some older pre-digi photos this past week.

I disliked the mask one the most, but decided that's ok. There will always be some that I love and that turned out so much better than what I could have dreamed of. And others that I just did to complete it.

For me I am all caught up... I used to, when working, get up earlier than normal, check the challenge and then either start to scrap it or read it a few times to get the creative juices flowing... I have found things taking me longer this time around (maybe that additional year of age from last year is gaining on me :giggle ) but once I got on the path it was smooth sailing.. I had a time finding photos to match on the torn photo, but that is part of the fun I think.

The one that gave me the most angst was the filled template as I am not a fill it to the brim person, but in the end I love it.

Challenges are what they are, to challenge you to enjoy the process and have fun doing it. I really am enjoying all of the challenges so far. The torn photo took me a bit lining up the tear etc, but that is just a me thing.. I really had fun and enjoyed it immensely. :) Here is to MOC12!

If anyone needs assistance or ideas etc, just give the host and the pollys a holler.. we are here to help you!

I've only managed to finish 1 page so far. :giggle I taught a book binding class for 20 people at my church on Saturday, so last week I had a bunch of prep work getting ready for that in the evenings and then we were busy all weekend too, so I couldn't even get caught up then. I am doing a scrapbook weekend with my local friend this weekend though, so I'll be able to catch up then, so I'm not at all worried yet.

I'm loving these challenges. The worst for me was the mask one. I started with one set of photos but could not make it work so I had to go to plan B once I figured it out. I am two behind but hoping to get some scrapping done tonight.

I've made each day's challenge on the day it was assigned, and I'm enjoying all of them. I love the change in focus from having a certain number of elements and such to practicing skills and pondering about the theme. My least favorite is probably the filled template because I don't scrap that way normally but I had time available to spend on it that day and determination and I actually used every spot in that template! I can't pick a top favorite. I'm happy with all my pages for different reasons.

I am playing catch up! Our house was full of college kids from a few days after Christmas, to this past Sunday! It's been crazy, but great! I feel we are finally getting back into the swing of everyday life (Homeschool started back up this past Monday, and I have one college kid left at home still). I may have some catching up to do, but I feel confident I can do it!
