Since there is a lot of craziness in people's lives (or so it seems anyway), I want to find out something that you are grateful for this week!

I'm excited because I was just made Poetry Editor for a brand new literary journal (of course it is an unpaid position) that kicks off in 2016. Also, I'm totally grateful that Kennedy is getting a student of the month award for being kind. I love that kid so much. :heartslub:heartslub:heartslub

Kimberlee!!!!! So proud of you girl! That is awesome! Both ... your new position and of course Kennedy's recognition for kindness!

I am super grateful to be done with my semester ... and I think I have a 4.0 (still waiting on one grade but I feel really good about it being an A). I get to hang out with my family much more and enjoy them again. My kids are teens in HighSchool so these last few years before they go off on their own adventures are so important to me! I don't know if any of you watch The Goldbergs on TV but I told my kids their "Smother" is back!

I just posted about this on Facebook last night, but this is such a super simple, but happy thing... Last week my youngest son scored for the first time in a basketball game. He is really short for his age so it's hard for him to hike that ball all the way up to the hoop. Anyway, he got the ball and was moving it up the court and I just had a feeling, so I was whipping out my phone to start a video of him handling the ball and he scored. I thought I had missed getting it on video, but then last night I was flipping through my pictures and I stumbled across a 2 second video and I didn't miss it after all! I am so happy and I just can't stop watching this video. He is adorable!

omg Karen! that is cutest thing ever! you can feel the desire to get that ball in that hoop! love it!!! and way to go mom for capturing that!!! xoxo

oh what a great thread and wootie woo to you Kimberlee and great catch on the score Karen!!! that is a MUST qr code for an upcoming page!!
I am pretty grateful, that today is a sit and relax day and last night this is so so huge.
Our littles have had a rough time in the serving department of life. Fighting doing chores, even the smallest. Each night, after dinner, all the kids do chores together. The Bigs growling at the Littles and it was just horrible. Last night, we had the Littles do the kitchen all by themselves.! IT was FABUlous! The did so good, and were so PROUD of themselves, even Big brother who is in grumble mumble 17 year old mode, said good job! I can smile off that moment for a while!

I'm grateful that all my issues with my academic transcript and paperwork are over, that I've applied to graduate & finished my Masters degree application.

I'm also grateful that after 17 months, my mum has a job and starts next Tuesday.

I like hearing everyone's good news! That's awesome about your editorship, Kim. I am glad you had a great semester at school and can rest a bit now, Jenn. Loved the video, Karen. Anne, that is a WIN for sure! Jennifer, great news about your Masters and your mom!

My good news is that I've been working on a BIG project here at the Pad for a long while. It's almost done...I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I am super happy to be finishing it up. Phew!!!

Goodness, so much to be grateful for all around! Congratulations to all of you on your awesome accomplishments. Anything I have to add is pretty lame by comparison, but here goes…

Tate (11 yr.) signed up to make taco meat for a fiesta in Spanish class today. I could have made it for him and called it done, but I decided it would be a good idea to have him actually do it, with my help. Bless his heart, last night he made 4 lbs. of meat and we put it in a crockpot for him to take today. This morning, he was so fired up about this event and even said he hoped everyone brought what they'd signed up for. He said he was a little worried about some of the more irresponsible kids who signed up for things like paper plates, because without plates they wouldn't be able to eat! At 11 he's always hungry! Anyway, I am so grateful that he is one of the responsible ones and that I was able to help him be proud that he made his offering himself! I told him, someday he'd meet a girl who'd be very grateful that he could cook!

Well, I would be MORE grateful had it actually been Saturday, which is what I thought it was when I first woke up today. Worst case of confusing the days EVER.

There's nothing specifically bad today, but nothing particularly exciting either. So I'll say I'm grateful for French Dip sandwiches for dinner tonight, left over from Sunday's pot roast. Best.Dinner.Ever.

I am grateful for this too!

Crossing my fingers for the 4.0! That is awesome!! I hope you get to enjoy lots of family time. I haven't seen the Goldbergs but I have heard about it a lot I need to give it a go!!

That is awesome!!! Simple blessings are the best!!! I bet you were soooo proud!!!

I am pretty grateful, that today is a sit and relax day and last night this is so so huge.

That is an amazing blessing!!! I am glad you got to relax a bit and I am soooo proud of your Littles!! That is awesome! I have one child in particular who struggles with the serving as well, so I can relate and know just the joy you feel!!

I'm grateful that all my issues with my academic transcript and paperwork are over, that I've applied to graduate & finished my Masters degree application.

So glad to hear your paper works troubles are over! I am sure that is a relief and good luck with the graduating and getting your masters!! Congrats to your mum on her new job too! I hope it goes well!!

My good news is that I've been working on a BIG project here at the Pad for a long while. It's almost done...I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I am super happy to be finishing it up. Phew!!!

YAY! I am sure that is such a relief!! Can't wait to see what it is and what the BIG project is! WOOHOO!

At 11 he's always hungry! Anyway, I am so grateful that he is one of the responsible ones and that I was able to help him be proud that he made his offering himself! I told him, someday he'd meet a girl who'd be very grateful that he could cook!

That is AWESOME! Those are skills that he will need and use!! cooking and being responsible are rarely seen, especially in young boys (in my experience!) That is awesome and not lame AT ALL!!!!

There's nothing specifically bad today, but nothing particularly exciting either. So I'll say I'm grateful for French Dip sandwiches for dinner tonight, left over from Sunday's pot roast. Best.Dinner.Ever.

That sounds delicious and joyous! Left overs that you can use for multiple things like that are the.best.

It was really important to me to comment on each one. All of these little tidbits made me so happy. I was feeling a bit blue so they lifted my spirits quite a bit.

I am grateful tonight for the fact that the baby finally sleeps in his own bed without me having to touch him all night long...even if that bed is right next to my own. baby steps!! But I can put him in there with daddy and close the door and have the living room TO MYSELF! So I am eating cookies with milk and watching tv BY MYSELF and it is lovely.:beat

I'm grateful for my husband and 3 kids. We celebrated our 20th anniversary yesterday. Hubby took the day off and we spent the day together. We went to lunch, we did sealings at the temple where we were married 20 years ago, and we did a little Christmas shopping and went out to dinner too. Best part was that he gave all his attention to me. He didn't check his email and take work calls all day like he usually does on his days off. :heartslub

This thread makes my heart so happy. I have been in the weeds with design work so I haven't had the time to respond as I want to, but I just had to say that reading these posts was a lovely bit of sunshine! Annnd truly..something I'm grateful for.

What a great thread!! I am grateful for simply being here. I have had an exceptionally rough year and half:
Marriage ending, three beloved family members passing, childhood home burning down, and then the regular host of life issues that are hard.

Bottom line, I am grateful I haven't given up. :beat I've been in some dark, scary emotional places and I am still here. In fact, I think I'm getting better.

I just had to pop back in and add something. Tate, my 11 yr. old grand took the quiz for the Geography Bee (like a spelling bee only for geography) and he came in 8th out of the entire 6, 7 and 8th grade population. He's in 6th. The top ten will compete locally on January 26 and winners could go on to district, state, national and so on. He was jumping out of his skin and needless to say we were soooo happy for him. Quite honestly, I think he knows more geography than the adults in this house do. It's kind of a hobby with him. I told him if they had an animal bee he'd ace that too. Both subjects are just things he's just interested in.

ohh I need to come to answer properly to all of you!!!!!! what an amazing thread Kim, and you go girl!!!!!!! I'm not surprised though... I remember discovering your writing in another site where we met, some years ago (crazy, isn't it?) and you are an overall so talented woman, you deserve it!!!!!!

I have to say, I have BIG news to be grateful for, which is that Sarita's behavior changed hugely now that she started having rehearsals every day...funny how usually showbiz is full of alcohol & drugs, but the company she is with is what keeps her away from it...I couldn't be more grateful for the past couple of days.....
and hey.....
I know it may not be much for some....
but... look at what it says in my avatar!!!!!! yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Couldn't be happier to be part of the Pad family in a more official way.
Oh and am grateful that I cooked two meals on my own today in the kitchen... and didn't burn or crash anything...of course the kitchen looks disaster, the floor is full of stuff (my hands don't answer to my brain sometimes) but the girl helper is coming tomorrow.. AND I have money to pay her....yes, so much to be grateful.

oh..and also for my friends who have been getting me through the worse over Facebook chat, especially Carrie (Caryline)
Couldn't have done it without you.
and my designers, Mirjam especially.....
I better go or you ll get tired of me.
But yes, GRATEFUL with capitals.
:heartslub

This is a happy heart thread! Grateful for all of the positives from you beautiful ladies in a world of negatives.

I recently had a bit of a health scare. Had to undergo lots of tests, but all came back negative. Turns out anxiety is a beast and can cause all sorts of terrible symptoms. I am grateful for my health and thankful that I came to the root of the problem and am healing. And I am so very grateful to have rediscovered my love for scrapping and for this beautiful creative outlet we share. And I will always be grateful for this place, for the encouragement, for the friendships (and rediscovering them), and for the inspiration I find here.

I'm grateful for the ladies who replied to my lack of Christmas cheer thread. And for a long talk with my husband about the stress I was carrying which eventually led to some resolution of some of the issues or at least alleviate things). I'm thankful for finally feeling the spirit of Christmas! And my knee is bursitis and is part of the healing process. It just means I've been more active and is a simple fix. My son is staying in Seattle for Christmas and I'm okay with that. We've made totally different plans than a usual Christmas so it should be fun. And Cynthia has been cheering me through as I've cheer her through. Along with all of you too .

Okay I am grateful for all the new friends I have made here at the Pad because even though life at home has been challenging lately I can always come here and enjoy a laugh and shed a tear and look at something inspiring or be inspired by a forum post! I can grab a coffee and sit down for a chat even if I am late!! LOL I am planning on coming to the slow scrap tomorrow so i hope its still on. There is always something going on that keeps me going!
Thanks everyone!
