Hey everyone!! Seeing lots of great AAM pages between the kits Little Butterfly Wings has on sale today and the All About... MOC challenge.

I started a FB group at the beginning of the year to help myself create an AAM album and motivate others to do the same. We are following the #52stories prompts but also sharing whatever we want.

I would love if any of you wanted to join us!! Please come and share your AAM pages and inspire others to do the same. We're all so good at documenting our childrens' lives and family life but we often neglect our own story and we matter!!

Please join us. :) https://www.facebook.com/groups/659410807572486/

Can I come lurk? Sounds like a really cool project... I just have a couple unfinished projects hanging over me, making me feel guilty at the moment.

i just posted an another member's page about how i fail to get me on my pages - i hate photos of me and i hate taking taking them. i mentioned maybe starting an informal monthly challenge to make sure i am in the photo every month. (after the MOC hoopla of course)

but i have really started documenting more about myself as my kids are teens and don't want to be the subject of my pages as much these days. i just did three photo less pages - more geared to just me ... so i think i will definitely head over and check it out.

still need my face on those pages!

Yes!! You know I love your designs so come "lurk" and if you feel like sharing that's wonderful!! :)

We're just getting up and running so there's not a lot of action yet. And I've been concentrating on MOC. :) I'll catch up on the #52stories in February. :)

I'm the same. Don't love pics of myself. But I read an awesome article once about why we should put ourselves in pictures more often and I've been trying. I think for me this book will be more about the stories of my life that I want to share. I made an album for myself for my 40th birthday a couple years ago and love it!! Double page spreads of each year of my life. But as my kids were looking through it they were asking who I was with in the photos and what we were doing and I realized I hadn't shared any stories. That's my new goal. I'm also trying to get my parents and my MIL to play along. :)

thanks for sharing this Robyn ... good stuff! i 100% agree and so well said. i think you have me hooked to try this! :) <3

I've actually always felt I'm scrapping for myself, even while I'm scrapping about my family. And I've enjoyed making all about me pages since I was a kid. :giggle So I'm intrigued. I've just requested to join.

Do you know.... I have been working to get my photos uploaded onto amazon prime photos. It does the facial recognition thing that Google photos does (which I haven't uploaded to, yet). But yesterday I happened to notice - it has found more than 1000 pictures of ME. :giggle

I usually don't mind being in photos, and usually don't mind sharing my stories. I had decided that in 2016 i was going to do a "project 16" which was to be 16 questions about me, on the 16th of each month. It didn't happen - but I got one spread done. I want to continue that project eventually, but I decided to prioritize getting caught up on other years that seemed to "stress me out" for not getting done. I am part of the group, but I've not participated at all. I want to... just not yet.

I too think my story needs to be documented, because someday, I won't be here. There are a lot of things about my past that my husband is uncomfortable with, so I don't talk about a lot (such as 3 years of being married to my ex). Basically, I have a 5 year period of time that just gets avoided in conversations and storytelling. There were happy times and lessons I learned in those years that I feel deserve a story/layout - even if it's just for me, and for some far off distant future version of my kids' viewing pleasure.

I love that Project 16 idea!! I tried to do a Day in the Life page on the 15th of every month...lasted two months. As my girls get older I find I have more time for this kind of stuff so I'm running with it. So many projects in my head!! My girls are 22, 20 and 17 and I want to go back and make albums for each of their lives so far!!

Okay... I'm in! Just took a nice long walk to Michaels and back (more yarn!!). It was a good time to just think and I have some ideas floating around in my head that I need to get jotted down.

I joined up and am still inherently keen, but am enjoying spending most of my free time at The Lilypad and MOC.

Please share. I also found some fun prompts to tell stories of your high school years. Hoping to share those soon. :)

One... I think I have figured out my one little word for this year (not that I really do this, but this one word keeps coming up this year). And two... I realized that 23 years ago I moved to Chicago, I'm 46, so half my life ago. Thought it would be interesting to do a layout about differences between the two halves of my life.

I pinned this years ago and thought I might do it as a family project with my parents and in-laws, but I never got my act together (and I'm not entirely sure it's the right set of prompts for what I had in mind).

I don't do OLW but I keep thinking "Write" would be a good word as I am trying to get better at journaling.

I LOVE the layout about the two halves of your life and the differences between them. Fun idea!! Hoping to make a Cubs game in Chicago with friends this summer (I'm in Minnesota so it'll be a fun road trip!!)

I'll have to take a closer look at the link. I want my parents and MIL to write their stories too. We lost my FIL almost 5 years ago and so many stories went with him. :( My girls were older so they knew their grandpa but I have two nieces who weren't even born yet and it would be so great to have his story in his words!!

Just requested to join. Sounds like a great idea. I've been wanting to do this for a while.
