I just did a dumb thing!! I had a stack of library books to return and this book to take to my son's two hour swim practice. I was going to get into it finally. I was talking and not paying attention and I put it in the return slot with the rest of them! The library is closed and we leave town tomorrow and now I have to go to the bottom of the list! Argh. Off to see if I can get it in a digital form on our library... Or anyone have it on kindle they're willing to loan me? Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Well, there were no holds on large print so I may have a copy by Monday but I wanted to bring it to a swim meet in Austin this weekend. Boo Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
My large print was already in today though I did not have time to run there after work. Must have been a copy at that library. I decided to bring June's book with me this weekend instead Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
And it happened again! Ran to the library today with my son to check out a museum pass. I decided to do a quick scan of the shelves and this book stood out to me during my quick look. It’s a rough copy though... looks like maybe coffee was spilled on it but I have it and I’m going to start it later today!
agree with you on Sophie Kinsella's style. I was able to read this book in almost one sitting! It was really quick and fun to read.
Finished this yesterday. I ended up really liking it - after a rocky start. After seeing some comments about people not liking Bernadette, I was prepared to not like her myself, but I loved her. I can easily see how as a mother you can lose yourself and if you aren't careful, spiral into the depths like she did. Let's just say I can relate to some of her manic feelings - the rants about drivers - loved it. Not sure I liked her husband though....While in the end he did end up trying to support her, man he was destructive there for a while!
I'm trying to finish. It's due back to the library in a week and I can't renew because others have requested it.
Finished! With just 10 hours to spare before my library ebook is scheduled to disappear! It was quite a slow starter for me. I really didn’t get engrossed until about ⅔ through the book. The way the story was told in the form of letters was very confusing. And the ending was too sudden. I want to know more about what happened afterward. Now to hurry and listen to When We Were Yours and Britt Marie. I put all 3 on hold the same day but they had different lengths of hold lists so I didn’t think they’d all come available so close together! But first I have to go pick up my daughter’s birthday cake. I’m writing this on my phone. I’ll come back to re-read the book discussion soon!
I finished this today I was glad it was a quick, fun read after The Great Alone. I like being surprised and this book keep me guessing so that was good.
I started reading this while I got my tattoo on Thursday so I had a solid 3 hours of reading- it was actually sorta nice despite a few painful areas! I enjoyed this one. It was fun & quirky & since I have lived in WA state my entire life- I loved the descriptions of Seattle & such.
So I know this thread is over a year old- BUT I just saw this trailer & CAN'T wait! I loved this book- I hope the movie does it justice! https://www.bernadette.film/
I'm listening to it right now on Scribd - I'm not into it enough to know if I'm going to like it or not.
