Welcome to March!!! Wow, can you believe we are in the 3rd month of the year already?! They say March comes in as a Lion and goes out like a Lamb... all I know is that I am ready for Spring to be here already!! With a new month beginning, it also welcomes a new month of challenges here at the Lily Pad!!! I am so excited to be hosting the March Template Challenge! This month, we have an amazing template from our very own and very talented Rachel of Rachel Jefferies Mixed Media Art & Design! You can download the template HERE. Then using the free template, create your own layout. You can scrap it exactly as it is, or you can flip it, rotate it, add or replace, as long as we can tell you used the template as your starting point. Here is my page: I used a photo by my best friend forever, Mary. She took this while walking in downtown Conway, SC. She told me that the squirrels are so tame as people always feed them, so they are not scared of people. It reminded me of the squirrels I saw when we were in London! Those along the Thames were pretty tame too. Here at my house they are very squittish, which is a good thing! Anyway, I scrapped my page using Rachel's Right Now Collection, her newsletter subscriber freebie from LOD day 2/18 Right Now mini kit and Lynn Grieveson's Worn Top 2 Templates. As always, please remember the monthly challenge rules: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the March Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges). I am excited to see your pages! Have fun!
This template was perfect with Rachel's new BYOC products and I added the collage paper as the background and the layout was practically done for me. Just a few more ellies and my photo and bam, another layout done!
I love this template and the new BYOC so much that I did a second layout with it! This time I used BYOC products from Lynn-Marie and Mommyish with Rachel's template.
A fun template to play with - many thanks to Rachel for providing it. I rotated and enlarged it a bit. My photo attempts to show the contrasts in the curves, the black of the railroad against the white of the snow and the white and black hills on a clear blue, late winter day in MN - so lots of layers of light and texture on the winding river road.
