We all have our inner struggles that are carefully tucked away out of sight. We choose not to expose ourselves for various reasons. Perhaps we don't want to draw attention to ourselves or to our problems. We don't want to bother other people with them. But your art journal should be a place where you can work out your feelings and transform them into something beautiful. The abstract value of art journaling lends itself to exactly this purpose. Sometimes we can hint to our struggles in our journaling through poetry or even imagery. I challenge you to create a page that deals with something you may be struggling with in a way that only you will understand. Let it be meaningful to you yet vague to your audience. Journaling is optional. In my page I chose a bit of poetry about darkness. The M3 June 2017 collab lends itself well to issues of illness, disabilities, identity struggles, feeling alienated as a culture.... You should aim to bring hope to your situation through your artwork. I used the concept of darkness and light. Notice how the bubbles rise from the head to the upper right hand corner where the paint, stitches and stamps jumble together in mixed emotions. This portrays the struggle through imagery. Here is my layout: products used: M3 June collab, Silhouette papers, I'm Different extras, lbw add-on papers Challenge: Create a layout that deals with a struggle you may have, but aim to shine hope on your situation through your artwork.
