Today is Lost & Found Day

Do you tend to lose things often?

What have you found recently?

Have you ever lost or found something important?

Have you ever lost or found something unique or interesting?

Do you tend to lose things often?
Yes unfortunately but more than likely only misplaced rather than truly lost

What have you found recently?
A second hand desk lamp I forgot I bought. I was about to add buying a new lamp to my shopping list then found it in a box tucked away for safe keeping

Have you ever lost or found something important?
Only my phone, wallet, keys or glasses but truly they've only ever been misplaced most of the time

Have you ever lost or found something unique or interesting?
Not that I can think of

Do you tend to lose things often? Not really, I misplace things often though. Put things down while I am thinking about something else and then wonder what I did with it.

What have you found recently? Earrings I haven't worn in a year or so.

Have you ever lost or found something important? Nope, it always resurfaces.

Have you ever lost or found something unique or interesting? My Mom used to find jewelry, but I haven't

I almost never lose anything - I am the "finder" in our house. If someone has lost or misplaced something, they come to me and I almost always find it, and pretty quickly! I have a place for everything and try to keep everything in its place.

That said, about a year ago I lost my wedding ring. I'm still so sad I can hardly even talk about it! I tore my house apart trying to find it. We moved in April, and I was sure I would find it in the move but I never did :cry
Just last month I decided to replace it. It was such a unique design, we decided to have a custom one made to try to recreate it, and it's still in the production process. Thankfully I found some pictures of it so I'm hoping it will come out looking and feeling like the same ring, but I'm still bummed out about losing the original. I'm not usually very sentimental but my ring was my most treasured possession.

I'm like you, I don't lose things... and I'm the finder in our family. The only thing I've ever lost that I never found was a pair of really expensive sunglasses that I loved. (we used some leftover FSA money one year to buy them). It still drives me crazy that I don't know where they went because I was so careful about always putting them away in the little holder in my car. I've often wondered if someone stole them out of my car because I would sometimes forget to lock my car, but usually it doesn't matter.

So sorry about losing your wedding ring! I just wanted to tell you a story about a friend of mine... she lost the diamond out of her wedding rings and it was either her grandma's or your Mom's set in a new ring, so she was heartbroken to have lost it. She also moved after she lost it and a long time after that, her husband moved a chair of theirs and the diamond fell out. So she found hers even after they moved, so there's still hope the original will show up! Fingers crossed!

Do you tend to lose things often?
No not too often. Thankfully it’s usually just my phone and my watch helps me find it.

What have you found recently?
I found a paintbrush under the couch. I have no idea where it came from.

Have you ever lost or found something important?
I lost a tiny diamond out of my wedding ring once. That was the worst. Thankfully it’s under warranty so they replaced it for free. Phew.

Have you ever lost or found something unique or interesting?
I found a dolphin ring when I was in high school and claimed it as my own instead of turning it in like I should’ve. It’s a constant reminder to me now to be more honest.

Oh that is a hopeful story! I hope your sunglasses reappear someday too :D

I only tend to lose (misplace really) things I've put in a "safe" place.

Once the tv remote went missing I tore the house apart looking for it. Two years later here comes preschool-aged Will with it. My guess is that he hid it, forgot about it, then found it again, but I've never figured out where it was during those two years ...

I'm pretty good at not losing things and I can't remember losing anything recently. Last year I lost my phone for about 20 minutes on my way to meet my friend for our weekly hike. I noticed when I got in my car and I could remember having it in my hand just before leaving the house, so I had to search both the house and the car. It wasn't until I arrived at our meeting spot -- where, by the way, I had more light to see by -- and I went to unbuckle my seatbelt when I noticed it had slipped down between the seat and metal bar that holds the part the seat belt buckles into. I had searched the floor under and beside the seat, but it never occurred to me to check that spot!

One of the funniest stories I remember about losing something was actually my oldest kid's (temporary) loss. Back around 2012, when they were 11 or so, they misplaced their iPod for several weeks. One day, I removed the cushions from the sofa to vacuum underneath and guess what I found! Right underneath their usual spot to sit was that long lost iPod!

Do you tend to lose things often? Not really. Like some of you, I'm the finder in the family. Mom always knows where everything is. LOL.

What have you found recently?
I'm always helping my kids find something that they lost.

Have you ever lost or found something important?
I lost my wedding ring once. I was cooking dinner and took it off to make meatloaf (I was using my hands to mix the meat). My parents came over for dinner. And I think in the hurry to clean up I closed the recipe book and my ring was in it. I didn't know that. Once I realized it was missing I tore the house apart looking for it. I emptied trash cans and the vacuum and everything. Since I knew it wasn't in the trash and I knew I hadn't left the house, I knew it would eventually show up. It took a couple of months and then when I pulled out that recipe book, there it was!

Have you ever lost or found something unique or interesting?
We lost the baby Jesus in our nativity set (we realized it was missing when we went to pack up Christmas stuff - one of the kids had played with it and didn't put it back) only to be found 8 months later by my daughter, who was little at the time and she came to me so excited saying, "I found baby Jesus!"

Do you tend to lose things often? Does my sanity count? *L* otherwise very rarely. I tend to not loose things that often

What have you found recently? Myself and that my happiness is more important that anything else

Have you ever lost or found something important? yes

Have you ever lost or found something unique or interesting? a piece of jewelery that my great grandmother gave me when I was a young child
