This event isn't a traditional challenge in that there aren't any real rules.
It’s a fun event to scrap with products from a fave designer or try a new (to you) designer.
It’s all about having fun and celebrating the uniqueness of all of our Lilypad Designers!

Let's get to know Joyce a bit better - she kindly agreed to an interview!

Please tell us a little about yourself and about your family

I’ll be 42 this year, and I’m a single mom of three. My kids are (almost) 13, 11, and 8 years old.
In my spare time, I like to catch up with friends or take out my crafting supplies.


I know, you live in The Netherlands – in what region do you live?

I live in a province called Limburg in The Netherlands, and I love it here!
I live right next to the Belgian and German borders.



Which came first, scrapbooking or designing?

I started out as a paper scrapper. I used to meet up with my cousin once a week to craft together. I can’t remember exactly how or when I discovered digital scrapbooking, but I started in 2004.
Right away, I had the “urge” to start creating my own designs. I entered a design competition in 2005—and I won! I had never designed anything in my life, so I was completely surprised… LOL.
Anyway, the rest is history, and I’ve been designing ever since.



What does your work space look like?

I used to have my own “office” in a corner of our utility room, but since there’s no heating and the room isn’t insulated, it was too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer.
So nowadays, I just use the dining table as my workspace when the kids are at school.
