Yay! I got to reach out to Leah and check in with her! She's been keeping busy, enjoying her family, and enjoying life as best she can! She has been here for a number of years, but I've been a fan forever it feels like! From her colorful kits to her fantastic styles, I'm a happy fan! So much to see and play with in her store! I got to ask her some questions for our day today, some fun, and some design related! I always like to see the person behind the designs. She's sweet, got a great sense of humor, and so easy to chat with! Here you go: Silly: 1. What do you think will break the internet eventually? An EMP. Google it, or maybe not - but it's WILD what could happen! 2. What ridiculous thing has someone tricked you into doing or believing? Ooooh, ok, I am REALLY easily tricked. Some would say I am gullible. One moment that REALLY sticks out is a bit naughty... it had something to do with a recipe for steak. I don't want to get into detail but even thinking about it now makes me blush. 3. If your life had a mascot, what would it be and why? An apologetic tortoise. Slow & steady... and sorry for all the things! 4. What is your favorite board game? Worst board game? Parcheesi - my grandma would play it with me. She was super cut-throat. No letting kids win. I was so very proud when my oldest beat her! Worst board game: Monopoly. I think it brings out the worst in people (because my daughter is cut-throat!) LOL Design Related: 1. What is your favorite thing to design? Styles! I also love word art! 2. Where did you learn to design? As a teenager, I wanted to make websites so I begged my parents to get me Jasc Paint Shop Pro so I could make graphics! It was a hobby that turned into a passion that turned into my job. 3. What kit or product are you most proud of? For CU was my Enamel Pin Builder! I was so proud of myself for figuring out the styles and also steps to help people create something unique! For PU it is my Wildflower Bundle - mostly because it was the first time I worked heavily in illustrator and created all of the artwork myself. I also made it in a library after a tornado had hit our neighborhood - so it was definitely memorable. 4. What influences your design work? Other designers, colors, random patterns I see on pillows, just everything! It's very hard to pinpoint but inspiration is just absolutely all around us. I feel fortunate to know some very talented people who continuously inspire me here at TLP! Also, check out this new Video Leah as created... Styles!
