We are going to see Elton John too. He'll be in Vancouver next week. Haven't been to a concert in ages, long before covid hit.

There is just something about live music that is special. It is partly the sound quality (although -- since I'm old -- I don't like it too loud and often wear ear protectionWe recently went and saw Bela Fleck with his My Bluegrass Heart Tour at Wolf Trap this past summer. It was amazing to get out to a concert again. We hardly ever go to them so this was a real treat. I'm not sure if we'll go to another one simply due to the price of tickets/fees, but we really did enjoy that concert.
) but I think also the shared experience with the audience and the performer. But, you're right, it is expensive these days! I have heard that since music artists basically make no money off music (record, cd, dvd) sales since Spotify and the like, that touring is the main way they make money. So, I try to look at the amount I USED to spend on buying music to ease the sting of ticket prices today.
