Live music in 2022? Have you seen or will you?

With the pandemic sort of moving to the background a little bit, my sister and I have slowly resumed our occasional girls’ weekends going to music festivals and concerts. This year we went to the Innings Music Festival here in AZ and we saw Pearl Jam (rescheduled from 2020). DH and are are also going to see Elton John in November.

How about you? Have you see or are you planning to see any live music shows this year? Do you still worry about crowds?

My oldest and I went to AJR's concert in Maryland last May. They put on such a great show and I love their music. I was not feeling very worried about the crowd because numbers of cases were dropping so much at that time and I was going to be sitting on the lawn. My daughter was in the pit though and wore a mask, or at least considered it; I forget now. Neither of us got sick.

I haven’t seen any live music for a very long time. I would like to take my kids sometime; maybe in the summer. I don’t worry about the crowds.

I'll be honest and say my worry about crowds was there long before the pandemic. I enjoy live music, but having a large number of people around me makes me nervous. The last concert I went to was with my cousins and that was in 2019. One of them has a hubby who is in the Allman Brothers Revival Band.

My daughter is the only one that has been to concerts. Since the pandemic has eased, she's seen Panic! At The Disco, Kacey Musgraves, the Jonas Brothers, and she's going to see Paramore next month.

My last concerts were fall of 2018 (2 of them). Last concerts before that were in the early 90's. So live music/concerts aren't something I do a lot of. Like Cheryl, I'm not fond of the crowds at large venues. The 2 concerts I went to were at smaller venues, maybe 3000 people at the most. And, with my tinnitus I don't enjoy being in crowds at all. I tend to zone out after awhile because of all the noise around me. Then I'm in a funk for at least 24 hours.

Music entertainment is not on my bingo card these days.

There are so many country music weekends and festivals where I live. The latest was 'Born and Raised" and was a weekend event.

We haven't been to any concerts...but only because there haven't been any that we've really wanted to go to. We have gone to two comedy shows. Not worried about crowds.

I took my teenager to the Backstreet Boys in August - 20,000 people. I had been to a couple events since covid but that's the biggest.

I went all summer, lol! I got a season lawn pass for $200 for the venue in my town (it's a mile away)! A super deal! It's an open venue outdoor venue.

So, I saw The Lumineers & Caamp, Miranda Lambert & Little Big Town, Dave Matthews Band, The Chicks, One Republic, Alanis Morrissette & Garbage, Pitbull & Iggy Azalea, Rod Stewart & Cheap Trick, Chris Stapleton & Willie Nelson & Zach Bryan. I feel like I'm missing one.

I have Nico Moon coming up this month and Carrie Underwood in February.
I love live music - big or small.

I'm not a fan of large crowds and didn't go to my first concert until I took my granddaughter to see One Direction for her 16th b'day. She no longer needs/wants me to pay for and go to concerts with her, so I haven't been to one in years.

Last big concert I've been to was Iron Maiden in the end of 2019. Then there was covid, and the first big international concert we went was: Iron Maiden, last september! I think that now the world can go back to its normal rythm LOL!

but before that, we went to some local festivals, and some of them I was wearing mask....but now, after 4 shots of vaccine I guess I'm more relaxed!

Wow! That is an amazing deal! I don't think we have anything like that here but I would love it!

You have Iron Maiden book-ending the pandemic. :D Love it. I have 4 shots too and feel more relaxed about going -- and it definitely helps if it is outside like a lot of festivals.

It was probably close to that when I saw Pearl Jam in May (indoors). I couldn't help but think about the studies showing that singing is one of the higher risk activities for spreading COVID and pretty much everybody sings (or screams) along at a Pearl Jam concert. But it was worth the risk. :lol

I've only seen shows that my children have performed in. But it was great that they could perform again this year.

Probably not for the foreseeable future. Large crowds give me the yuck now LOL ... and I kinda like my brain as it is so keen to avoid getting Covid repeatedly. But when NZ was Covid free in 2021 we went to a couple :-) Now DH and I have settled into a rhythm of up at 4am for work then early to bed not sure it would work for us anyway :nope

I'm hoping they offer it for next summer too! It's an Amphitheater so it's only open from May to October.

If they do, I'm contemplating getting it for my oldest son. He would have loved a few concerts...

Oh, I definitely feel that! I love the meme of someone blowing out candles on the cake that says "can you believe we used to do this?" or something like that. Even aside from COVID, I think how many other cold, flu, norovirus, etc germs get passed around. It's enough to make a girl never leave the house! :lol

I saw The Jonas Brothers with my daughter in June. My ears are still recovering from the screams. My SIL is taking her in November. LOL

The one I went to was indoors as well. There are no covid restrictions left where I live (it's like it doesn't exist, which is scary on one hand!)
