Alright, so do you ever have something that's annoying, but you get so used to it, that you don't realize how annoying it is? (P.S. Family doesn't count :whistle:giggle)

So, I couldn't decide on a keyboard for my computer, so I ended up buying a cheap one - like $10 cheap. I didn't like it much, but I learned to adapt to it. It collected tons of dust, the keys wore off, and it was slightly cramped. Also, the cord was a tiny bit too short for my desk set up. Like 2 inches. So, not enough to be a deal breaker, but just enough to be annoying and make me constantly pull it off of whatever had it stuck.

Well, I told myself I was buying a new keyboard finally. And I started researching a cordless one so I didn't have the too-short cord problem. Found one, and bought it! The coolest feature is it has all these buttons that do cool things! Like I programmed the photo button to open Lightroom, and there's buttons that open my TLP scrap supplies, etc. My only regret is I didn't buy it sooner. (So, I bought my husband one too).

Anyway. It got me wondering: Have you put up with something annoying for too long?
And, what's your computer keyboard look like?

Yeah, corded keyboards/mice are a real nuisance. So I used cordless for years. Those were fine when there was a corded transmitter that could be placed on the desk. When all of them switched to the dongle for the USB port, I started having major problems with them, no matter how expensive the keyboard. Intermittent connection issues happened all the time and I will say, my computer has always sat on top of either a printer stand or a 2 drawer file with no obstruction between it and the cordless device. Didn't matter if it was a front USB port or a back of the computer USB port, connection issues with both of them.

So I'm back to a corded keyboard/mouse and I have no issues at all except for cords everywhere!

I have always been a fan of Logitech devices and found they have worked well. However, I appear to be using the Dell keyboard/mouse that came with this computer. Must have pulled it from the basement when the last cordless frustrated me! I do not like ergonomic keyboards though and that is because of learning to type correctly all those years ago on a manual typewriter.

Family doesn't count? That's me out right there.

My keyboard is the one that came with this pc, it has a cord and works fine.
Unlike the previous one, previous pc, that I spilled tea on and it died.

My husband convinced me to get a corded mouse for playing video games on PC because there is never a signal loss and it is faster. The cord drives me crazy since my desk is a mess and it hits stuff! lol Keyboard is a cheap logitec.

I use a Mac for work, and that's fine except that I do lots of copy+pasting and going back & forth between screens and there is a HUGE difference between the second monitor they provided and the small(er) screen of the laptop itself. I need to buy a second (third?) monitor myself so that I don't have to use the laptop screen except there are only two USB ports -- one for the power cord and one for the second monitor. I guess I would need to buy a cord that can split between two monitors? I have no idea.

I also have no idea how to delete bookmarks on a Mac. There doesn't seem to be an easy way to do it, and I'm generally too busy during work hours to look... and then have an HP laptop for personal use so I don't remember to look it up then, either!

I just replaced two of my big annoyances! I've had them since we first moved in, 14 years ago, and I've been meaning to replace them for a long time, but you know, money doesn't grow on trees...
1) The sofa throws were torn beyond repair. I ordered (online) new fabric last week for $55. My mom just finished hemming them. Not 100% happy with the look (the color isn't perfect - probably wouldn't have bought them in a shop), but still better than the old ones.
2) After I ordered the sofa throws, my old ironing steam press broke. I was like "Finally!". :eg9 I've been wanting to throw it out of the window for at least 10 years now. It was a cheap model and I have never been happy with it. It always left wrinkles on all fabrics. I got this cutie the day before yesterday for $300. It's so much better than the old one!

Why do we do that - the waiting until it dies or something before getting a new one? My husband really ascribes to that. However, I recently have gotten a new car (and he got the almost 300,000 mile/15 yrs old van) and a new refrigerator (and the old one went to the garage since it still works). The dishwasher is making a horrid noise - so I might be getting a new one of those soon.

Oh, I found out just this week that I could order replacement filters for my vacuum cleaner. Mine were nasty. Who knew? They come today and I hope to test them soon.

I have a laptop, so I use the keyboard that came with it. In years past I had a keyboard on a laptop die (it started adding random keystrokes to everything) and I replaced it myself. Cost me $13 and I did it.

I too am a Logitech mouse girl - only cordless. I hate trackpads --- way too slow for me.

It's logitech K350. I found it on Amazon but it was cheaper at Sam's Club if you have access.

That is one of the styles that I don't like. The feel of those is really off for me. I had a regular keyboard with a palm rest and hated it as well. I also found that they took up too much desk space for the way I work. I hope you do like it and hope the USB receiver works better for you than they did for me. But you can't go wrong with Logitech!

Good luck!

I like to use things to death anyway, so I'm sure I should be able to think of something but nothing's coming to mind.

I use the Apple keyboard that came with my iMac. It's wireless, thin, and has a numeric keypad.

I’d been putting up with computer mouse issues for weeks then the retailer I use had a decent sale, I was already purchasing other stuff so popped a new mouse in (exactly the same one I’d had). As soon as I plugged it in when I got it all of the issues went away and I was left thinking should have done this sooner.

I got a hand mixer this year...haven't had one in all my married years. I always had to pull out my big kitchen aid mixer even for little jobs. It's the best ever.

Also, good knives. Just get the good knives. Totally worth it.

I've actually decided to spend more money on kitchen gadgets because I spend sooooo much time cooking for the fam. It makes things to much easier and more enjoyable.

Hmm...we really can't include the little things that family members do?

I have 2. First, we recently replaced on old pot that we often cooked pasta in. The old pot was perfectly fine until recently, so I didn't expect much to be different about the new pot. But, wow--the new pot's lid strains the water without me needing to use our huge stand alone strainer and it goes in the dishwasher. Now every time I use our older pots I'm so annoyed by them--I'm planning to replace them all ASAP!

Second are my wireless earbuds. I had a cheap pair from a brand that's usually good, but after a month or so the buttons started failing and I had to pause and adjust volume from my phone instead of the headphones. I kept using them for 6 more months, until finally the power button broke and they HAD to be replaced. As soon as I started using my new ones, I couldn't believe I'd made myself keep the old ones for so long. I use them for *hours* every day--why did I put up with the inconvenience for so long instead of just buying better ones?

As for keyboard, I just use the one on my laptop. I don't like external stuff (like a keyboard, monitor, or mouse) living on my already messy desk.

I don't know what browser you're using, but here's how to do it in Safari and Chrome.
Safari: Bookmarks > Show Bookmarks > Right click on the link you want to delete > delete
Chrome: Bookmarks > Bookmarks Manager > Click the 3 dots next to the bookmark > delete

I used to have a wireless keyboard, but I got annoyed with having to change the batteries all the time.

My current keyboard is a wired one that came bundled with my laptop. It has clicky keys and is backlit (I'm using the default rainbow colors.)

I use a Logitech trackball for my mouse because I don't always have the space to move a mouse around.

I used to have a really nice bluetooth speaker for my phone but it needed to be replaced. Instead of replacing it, I tried other options that were laying around my house (the soundbar on our tv, a Google Home Mini, an Amazon Echo Dot) and ended up buying a speaker anyway. LOL I should have just replaced the speaker in the first place! (The soundbar has better sound, but reconnecting to the tv after connecting to my phone was a huge hassle and I decided I never wanted to do that again.)

Two years ago I bought a "gaming" computer from Dell.com to scrap on ... who knew gaming computers have RED letters on their keys instead of white. Yes they light up, but the RED lights aren't that visible with the lights on.

My keyboard on my work desktop stopped working ... or so I thought ... bought a new $10 keyboard from WM, tossed the old keyboard then discovered that the new keyboard was also "broken" ... took me a couple of weeks to figure out that I was the problem ... instead of holding the ALT key down to access the symbols on the number pad I was holding the CTRL key down. So stupid ... I miss my old Dell keyboard.

I'm find with a wired keyboard, but I love my wireless mice ... esp. the one I have for my laptop ... I hate touchpads. Mine are all Logitech M325s.

I absolutely have to use a mouse with my laptop. The touchpad just does not work well with my hands at all! I actually have a smaller mouse for the laptop, Logitech of course. M215
