I hear about laptop crashing all the time. I'm worried about mine. LOL!!! Mine is a MAC pro since 2011. Do you ladies have a spare laptop just in case on crashes? I was told a life span of a laptop is normally 3 years. How long have yours survived?

I am so worried mine will die on me anytime.

My Dell will be 7 in January. It's gone through a lot, and she's definitely on her last leg. . Hoping she lasts a bit longer, though, because a new computer just isn't in the budget right now. .. *crosses fingers*

Mine has just died on me :( 2008 is when I bought mine, I believe. It wasn't heavily used for quite some time, however. I took it in to Best Buy Geek Squad 3 weeks ago, and was told it was fixable. They sent it off to the service people, who just called me yesterday to say they were unable to get the parts. :(

Do you have a spare so that you can still scrap? Good reason to get a new one!! LOL!!!

I actually am confined to the desktop computer now. husband just bought himself a laptop for his school, so hopefully the need for me to get another one is far down the line.... i can't afford another one right now.

I thought of getting a desktop too. However, since I am a big fan of Apple... A MAC desktop will cost me a bomb!!! arrrggghh!!!

We are not Mac people. Haha. Husband built this computer with stuff he bought on Newegg.com I think. It is also many years old. I imagine it will need replacing, too. :( from 2010 I think. Maybe 2011.

WOW!! I am surprise your Dell lasted so long!!! My first laptop was a Dell, lasted only 3 years. 7 YEARS IS A LONG TIME!!!!

My first laptop lasted almost 5 years. It still worked but it was SO STINKING SLOW that I couldn't stand it anymore. I switched to a desktop with two monitors and wouldn't switch back. I do have a laptop that I use for scrapping on the go and it's tough to use after having all that visual real estate.

I'm lucky to have a boss that works on computers and will really try to get things right. He understands my photo and backup obsession and offers suggestions all the time to make things better.

Oh!! I want 2 monitors!!!!!

My last laptop was maybe 3ish years old. The one previous to that is still going & its almost 5 years old. My mum is using that one but she is a light user. My current one is only 9 months old so its got a bit of life to live yet

Gah! Don't jinx me! LOL.. Luckily DH is quite handy with computers, which is part of why she's held on for so long.. At this point I might as well just have a desktop, though, because the screen on Stella is dead (3rd time) so I have an external monitor I'm hooked up to.. Ultimately I want a desktop with dual monitors in an awesome clean, bright creative space.. That's not happening anytime soon, so I just consider this set-up a baby step toward getting there - haha!

My Lenovo laptop lasted 3 years with a hard drive that failed twice before the final demise. This Toshiba layout is just one year old.

Sarita's Mac Book is from that year I think.... it only crashed because of her dropping some liquid on it, but it had problems since very earlier on....
if you can, when replacing, I would much recommend to get an iMac
the new ones are so think , you can move them around now sweat in the house, and in my experience , they last a lot longer.

Sarita had to change her charger 3 times, before it got wet, so that was once a year....
My iMac, is from late 2008, October I think.... I only started having trouble a few months ago. I have to do all kind of tricks and juggling to make it work, but in the most is because is full of stuff...a laptop couldn't take as much , I don't think so....

I'm not even sure how long I've had my laptop... probably about 5 years, but I don't use it very much because I have a desktop that my hubby built me with 2 monitors and I LOVE that setup. I am drastically slower scrapping on my laptop and even when I take that to crops I still bring a 2nd monitor and have two screens. It messes me up to only have one. Lol.
