I have a similar one that isn't by Pampered Chef, and we love it, too.
 
I've thought about this so much and I have lots of things that are handy dandy and cost less than $50. The one I use EVERY day is my super quick iPhone charger and 10 foot long cord! All the kids/grandkids love mine so much that I've gotten them all one of their own - birthdays and Christmas gifts this past year. (It gives a full charge in less than 20 minutes).

I just ordered myself a pink portable drill that was a little over $50. Might move up to a fave.

But my most recent is this mini waffle maker - $10 at Target :) We have used it to make cinnamon rolls, eggs, muffins...so fun and so easy and less mess!!

Jan I was looking for a picture of this, I have one of those in white (it's been around my kitchen for nearly 10 years, and I use it almost every day when chopping veg for dinners.) here it's called Trittatutto meaning Cuts everything. I bought one for my Dad after Mum passed away to encourage him to eat veg, he says he does carrots in it... and one for our eldest dd when she moved to Zurich to the Uni, she called me last week to say she used it (she forgot she had it, so was chopping things by hand until now, and then remembered) and raved about how easy it was to use and wash, and she's got a lot of allergies and eczema so not touching raw veg when cooking is wonderful, and the other gadget was the waffle maker, Jan, with interchangeable plates for eggs, waffles and hot cheesy sandwiches...

I agree on the 10 foot iPhone chargers and rapid chargers. I bought one for all the kids so they would stop fighting over mine.

@gonewiththewind i love my meat chopper. It comes in handy when I’m cooking a huge batch of taco meat to freeze.

That's so great! I always rave about the chopper! My grown children didn't understand until I bought each of them one and now they love theirs as much as I love mine! I really wish I had the waffle maker with the interchangeable plates. I may have to pick up the griddle one now :)
 
It just sneaks under the $50 mark, but for me it was the Zojirushi mini rice cooker. I've had mine for about 8 years and I use it constantly. It's perfect to bring on trips because I can steam veggies, fish/shrimp and the like while I cook the rice for an easy for me allergy-friendly meal. And it's perfect for cooking oatmeal, too. We use ours all the time. It's taken quite a beating but is still going!

I forgot about my tomato knife - it has made cutting tomatoes such an easy thing. No more sawing on the tomato until the skin breaks - just one flick of the knife and you have a nice thin or thick tomato slice.

I LOVE Rada knives and didn't even realize they sold them on Amazon (why am I not surprised). There's a lady that sells them at our church when they do a bake sale around Christmas usually. I have several and love them all, but I don't have that one! I will get that one next! Thanks for the tip!

Can you open pickle jars with this? I couldn’t see how large it would go to.
